Pain: These creatures are known for either being cute and peaceful, or vicious and terrifying.
Eeveechu: Seahorses, lovely small creatures fall on the former end of that scale.
Splash: Maybe in our world, but not in the Pokémon's.
Mewtwo: Seahorse Pokemon have grown in size tremendously, and gained killer attacks.
Pain: These shouldn’t even be considered Seahorses anymore. They’re sea-DRAGONS. (Which, yes, do exist in real life)
Eeveechu: Monsterous Pokemon capable of destroying ships.
Splash: Kingdra, the Dragon Pokemon… Not very creative, is it?
Mewtwo: And Dragalge, the Mock Kelp Pokémon.
Pain: He’s Mewtwofan and I’m Lord of Pain!
Eeveechu: The name is Eeveechu151.
Splash: And I’m Splashfur!
Mewtwo: And it’s our job to analyze their movepools, stats, and abilities to find out who would win a Death Battle.
Pain: Deep in the oceans of Kanto lie a vicious Pokémon.
Eeveechu: It’s foretold in legends as a monster that not even the most powerful sailors can deal with.
Splash: Their name strikes fear into even the bravest souls.
Mewtwo: That name is… Horsea.
Pain: While the basic form isn’t very menacing, it’ll soon evolve at level 32 into Seadra. Slightly less wimpy, but good if you throw a Hidden Power and an Eviolite on there.
Eeveechu: But there’s a reason this thing is so rare. In the Whirl Islands of Johto, scales from an undersea dragon was found.
Splash: Trade Seadra while it comes into contact with one of these scales, and it becomes a Kingdra.
Mewtwo: Standing at 5’11, Kingdra is over 3 and a half times the size of a standard sea dragon.
Pain: Kingdra is said to hibernates in deep parts of undiscovered water.
Eeveechu: It will only awaken when a powerful storm hits.
Splash: And when it awakens, it goes out in search of prey.
Mewtwo: Kingdra has a wide variety of moves it can use. We have chosen to give it Dragon Pulse, Scald, Ice Beam, and Water Pulse.
Pain: Kingdra is powerful. Extremely powerful. One Yawn from is is said to be able to obliterate entire small ships.
Eeveechu: Whenever Kingdra emerges from the ocean, it can create huge whirlpools and tornadoes.
Splash: This strength is reflected in its stats. 75 HP, 85 Speed, and 95 in literally everything else.
Mewtwo: Kingdra has the ability Swift Swim, which doubles its speed stat if it is raining.
Pain: Kingdra is a powerful type of Water/Dragon, 2 of the best types in the game. It has only 2 weaknesses, Fairy and Dragon, as well as resistances to Steel, Fire, and Water.
Eeveechu: Kingdra is possibly one of the deadliest Pokemon that live under the sea. Though, after all that time underwater, they are probably… a little hoarse.
Splash: Hiding under the water is a Pokemon that is always waiting for its next victim, stalking out its prey before striking..
Mewtwo: It’s… It’s… Another tiny Seahorse Pokémon.
Pain: While the little Pokemon Skrelp isn’t very intimidating, you just need a little love and patience to make it grow.
Eeveechu: And patience is right. It evolves at level 48!
Splash: But it’s well worth the wait once you see what comes next…
Mewtwo: Dragalge is the same height as their combatant, and shares their power level as well.
Pain: Dragalge spits poison powerful enough to destroy entire tankers with just one strike.
Eeveechu: Dragalge is often mistaken for kelp, so it can hide while it waits for its dinner.
Peridot: Dragalge is a very territorial Pokemon, destroying any object that roams into its turf.
Mewtwo: Because of these combined facts, ships that enter its path never return. I named my Dragalge ‘Bermuda’ in Pokemon Y.
Pain: Dragalge is so Poisonous that its ability, Poison Point, has a 30% Chance to Poison an opponent if it even makes Physical Contact with it!
Eeveechu: We’re not talking Poison anymore. This is ACID.
Splash: Dragalge has moves to support its power even further. Play Rough, Thunderbolt, Sludge Bomb, and Dragon Pulse.
Mewtwo: If it needs to be any scarier, here are Dragalge’s stats. 44 Speed, 65 HP, 75 Attack, 90 Defense, 97 Special Attack, and 127 Special Defense.
Pain: Dragalge has a great type, as well. Poison/Dragon. Weak only to Ground, Psychic, Ice, and Dragon.
Eeveechu: But those resistances are the real marvel. Dragalge is resistant to Fighting, Poison, Bug, Fire, Water, Grass, and Electric.
Splash: Dragalge is actually the only Pokemon to have this type combination.
Mewtwo: With so much power, Dragalge sure isn’t just dragon their weight around.
Mewtwo: Alright, the combatants are set!
Pain: And the arena is ready!
Eeveechu: Let’s end this debate once and for all!
Splash: It’s time for a Death Battle!
(It’s Sinnoh, inside the beautiful lake Acuity)
(Pokemon are swimming about, having a good time)
(One of these Pokemon is a Kingdra)
(They are sleeping on the bottom of the lake)
(Suddenly, there’s a huge clap of thunder, and a storm rolls over the lake)
(Kingdra opens its eyes and gets up, starting to look for food)
(It wanders into an open part of the lake, and sees some kelp)
(Dragalge is waiting in the kelp.)
(It dives out and comes face to face with Kingdra)
FIGHT!
(Kingdra knocks Dragalge out of the way with a quick Water Pulse)
(Dragalge is unaffected.)
(They swim under Kingdra, and appear behind Kingdra’s back)
(Kingdra turns around, only to be blasted in the face with Sludge Bomb)
(Kingdra shakes it off, then swims right above Dragalge, hitting it with Dragon Pulse)
(The force knocks Dragalge to the ocean floor)
(They brush the sand off, before jetting upward)
(Dragalge headbutts Kingdra in the chest, stunning it)
(As Kindra looks Dragalge in the eyes again, Dragalge uses its own Dragon Pulse)
(Kingdra is knocked back, right into the walls of the lake)
(They instantly shoot up towards the surface)
(Dragalge catches up to Kingdra, and bites its tail)
(Kingdra throws Dragalge above the surface of the water)
(They then jump out of the water themselves, using Scald and throwing Dragalge onto the shore)
(Dragalge pulls itself up, then sees Kingdra still in the water)
(They plan their movement, then jump straight on top of Kingdra)
(Dragalge uses Play Rough, beating Kingdra to the lake’s floor)
(Kingdra yawns upward)
(It spirals into a tornado)
(The tornado picks up a bunch of rocks, as well as Dragalge)
(Dragalge struggles to get free, but it is smacked with a bunch of rocks)
(The tornado eases up, and Dragalge drops right onto the surface of the water)
(The tornado spins out in the air, but there is still a storm cloud)
(Kingdra comes back up to the surface and uses Ice Beam, nailing Dragalge right in the back)
(Dragalge uses the storm cloud, and launches a Thunderbolt)
(The thunderbolt shocks the water, electrocuting them both)
(Dragalge bites Kingdra’s neck, before dragging them to the bottom of the lake)
(The electrocuting eases up, and Dragalge stares at Kingdra’s drifting body)
(Kindra jolts awake, getting back up)
(They almost instantly fire a Scald out of their mouth)
(It nails Dragalge, sending them into their reef)
(As Kingdra floats above, Dragalge hovers out, Dragon Pulsing)
(Kngdra dodges out of the way)
(They do a flip for style before Ice Beaming)
(Leaves on Dragalge become covered with frost, and they’re stunned for a bit)
(Kingdra gets closer, and stares at Dragalge in the eyes)
(The frost eases up, and Dragalge smacks Kingdra across the face with its fin)
(Kingdra shakes its head, and Dragalge uses Play Rough again, roughing up Kingdra more)
(Kingdra retaliates with Water Pulse, knocking Dragalge away)
(Dragalge swims in circles around Kingdra, confusing them)
(With each lap, Dragalge gets closer)
(They eventually use Thunderbolt)
(The bolt strikes the Island in the middle, having no effect to the water)
(Kingdra smirks while Dragalge is distracted)
(They aim a Dragon Pulse, and hit Dragalge right in one of the eyes)
(Dragalge stumbles, collapsing and drifting in the water for a little bit)
(They snap to their senses and use one last Sludge Bomb)
(This one isn’t aimed for Kingdra)
(It spreads across the water, turning it corrosive)
(Kingdra starts choking, and Dragalge grabs its neck with one fin)
(They launch a powerful bolt of Poison at Kingdra)
(It hits them right in between the eyes)
(Kingdra begins to disintegrate)
(Dragalge drops their lifeless body, and it floats back up to the surface, along with all the other Pokemon that the Poison killed)

Mewtwo: Not only is Dragalge’s ability more useful, but they have a movepool that can account for anything Kingdra brings.
Pain: But what really seals the deal is that ‘Overall Strength’ category. Tom, if you would?
Tom: Why, certainly. Both of these combatants can destroy ships with their power. Dragalge is said to be able to destroy a common oil tanker, which would take 773152 Pounds of Force to do. Kingdra is said to be able to destroy small boats. We could compare this to a sailboat. If we give it a fairly strong sailboat, it would take about 40,000 Pounds of Force to break. Kingdra’s feat is stronger by a long shot. Plus, if Dragalge can destroy a tanker, he can likely destroy a tiny Kingdra.
Eeveechu: It wasn’t just pure strength, too. It was also the terrain.
Splash: By the rules of Death Battle, to make it fair, we have to fight in an unbiased terrain. As Kingdra is a water type, the unbiased terrain would be in the water.
Mewtwo: But if pure blasts of poison are enough to destroy a tanker, this is more likely acid, which turns water Corrosive.
Pain: It’s clear that the winner is Dragalge. But that’s odd… We received a comment, that informed us of some very crucial information that, “Kingdra’s OP” and “Dragalge sucks.” Wow! Such amazing evidence! It’s hard to argue with that sort of knowledge, isn’t it!
