For decades, people have considered Mega Man X and Zero to be the best robo-bros of all time. And I can see why, with their compatibility.
I mean, just look at them! Don't they look like they could beat up a whole group of mavericks?
Both have been considered very powerful, and better than their predecessors, but that begs the question: Which one of these mechanical marvels is the strongest?
We're readying traps, weapons, and blockades around the arena. But who can win THE ASSAULT?!
ASSAULT!!
Sweet new intro, by the way.
I know, right? Anyway, let's start with...both.
Back in the good ol' days, Dr. Light had always fought Dr. Wily.
It was the epic proportion that everyone loved!
But then, one of Wily's robots, Bass, discovered the worst.
His master was creating the worst. It even looked like it was better than Bass himself.
Both Light and Wily were at their oldest, and couldn't live much longer. So each of them created one last robot.
Dr. Light created the Neo Mega Man.
Wily created his ultimate murderer.
X and Zero.
Now we just need the Y in between!
We'll come back to that later. There was another robot named Sigma, who led a group known as the maverick hunters. Since Zero has killed so many robots since his release, Sigma decided to duel him.
Then they swapped! Zero became good, and Sigma became bad.
X and Zero banded together to stop Sigma from his kill streak.
Both X and Zero have ranged weapons.
X has his Mega Buster, Zero has his Z-Buster. Both have rapid fire and charge shot settings.
X can even charge his up even when he's not using it.
One thing Zero has to himself is his Z-Saber, formed from a tiny sheath on his back. Which is literally X-COM
TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES
It's literally a lightsaber.
Don't forget their alternate forms! X can collect all four armor pieces and become to ultimate god oh I'M SORRY ultimate maverick hunter.
Zero can also turn into Black Zero when he's at his best, slightly upgrading some of his moves.
Having some more Zero, he can upgrade more to Absolute Zero. While losing some of his abilities, he gins sweeeeet new claws!
It deserves the SWEEEET reward of a Diet Dr. Pepper!
But both do have weaknesses.
X can't kill humans, and Zero is sometimes stubborn. He was involved in quite a lot of robo drama though.
What kind of robo drama would that be?
Romace. Action. That kinda stuff.
Well, at least X has action.
Not romance though.
Is there anyone we can ship him with?
Ashe.

Alrighty, both characters have been researched, it's time to rev up the hype and get ready for THE ASSAULT! It's mah birthday by the way!
YEEEAH!
ASSAULT!!
X ran through each of Sigma's defenses, and finally reached him. "What are you up to now, Sigma?" asked X, shooting the last enemy. "Oh, hello, X. I see you've gotten smaller." taunted Sigma. "Where's Zero?!" shouted X. A door opened to the left of X. A tall figure with shoulder pads walked out. "I don't know. Why don't you check to your left?" said Sigma. "Zero! Snap out of it! You're under his control!" yelled X. It didn't stop Zero from unsheathing his Z-Saber and running towards X. "Oh, he is not under my control. I have simply removed all that is good from him." explained Sigma. Zero kept swiping his Z-Saber and X kept dodging. "If you want him back, then fight." "Never!" yelled X, finally getting hit. He was knocked into a wall, then cranes and other tools hung down from the ceiling, executing X and modifying him. His head was placed back on. Instantly, Zero and X ran at each other, weapons in hand.
The screen splits in two, one in Zero's perspective, and the other with X's.
Get ready for the assault! ENGAGE!!
(Opening Stage - Mega Man X)
X instantly starts shooting his Mega Buster, only to be blocked by Zero's Z-Saber. X starts moving around, dodging all of Zero's blows. As he was doing do, he charged a shot from his buster. Zero noticed the blue energy emitting from X, and instantly knew what it was. He started charging his Z-Buster and sheathed his Z-Saber. To catch Zero off guard, X shot his Mega Buster in rapid fire. All of them hit Zero, but it wasn't long before he unleashed his charge shot. That also caught X off guard, knocking him into the same wall he dented when Zero had hit him earlier. From all the hits it had taken, the wall broke open into a dimly lit hallway. Zero ran in with X and unsheathed his Z-Saber. X unleashed his charge shot, but Zero slashed his Z-Saber to cause a wave in attempt to deflect the shot. It worked, but it caused a giant explosion, sliding both X and Zero back a little bit.

Two Mettaurs saw them coming. They hid in their helmets, but then they realized they were fighting each other. They got out of their helmets and watched. Zero kept slashing, but X kept dodging. Tired of this nonsense, Zero turned into Black Zero, making his attacks harder to dodge. But in return, X put on four armor pieces and accelerated towards Zero at high speeds. This time, his bullets were more powerful and were quicker. Zero's slashes may have been quicker, but X dodges them quicker with his boots, making the walls spark from Zero's slashes. While dodging, X charges his shots, then shoots, rapid firing in the process, overwhelming Zero. It's no problem for him, though. He swiftly blocks and attacks at the same time. Now who's really being overwhelmed now? X lets his guard down for a single moment. "This'll be over in a nanosecond." said Zero. "Don't get too cocky." X sputtered, trying to stay confident. Zero sort-of grinned and took the opportunity to hit X. It worked, knocking X into a wall...again. X was still struggling to regain control when Zero rushes up and stabs X. X remains alive, but unable to move. Zero takes this shot and continues slashing him up into tiny bits. He sheathed his Z-Saber, and the explosion followed.
KO!
Zero gets reprogrammed again and realized what he's done.
X stays in pieces.
Wow. That was brutal.
You bet. Zero was created to outmatch the original Mega Man is every way possible. Seeing as though Dr. Light didn't know he would do this, he created X a little bit better than his predecessor, but still not as good as Zero.
Besides, X doesn't have any weapons besides his Mega Buster. Behind, of course, his maverick power-ups. But that would make him too op.
Plus, even if he did have his maverick power-ups, he wouldn't need them because of his armor pieces.
Looks like X was the REAL Zero.
The winner is Zero.
