Work in Progress- Swirlix Used Cotton Guard

This is a project I'm planning on doing in the near future to practice using the vectors on Adobe Illustrator. This will also be the first fan art I plan to publish online. I kind of got the idea for this from those monster movies where people are consumed by a giant blob or some other large and nearly indestructable force. Also, since I imagined the Swirlix in my game to be more of a ditzy comic relief, I thought it would be funny if he would go overboard when trying to use Cotton Guard for the first time.

Any advice or suggestions on the actual drawing before I start working with it on Illustrator would be greatly appreciated.
