Theory 1: The Coma theory
The coma theory is one of the most logical out off all of the theories, and it believes that Ash was shocked by Pikachu, and he falls into a coma, imagining all that happened in the anime and movies. The theory suggests that if Ash ever woke from his coma, the he would fall into a state of depression, because none of his friends - or accomplishments - were real.
Theory 2: Ho-Oh
This theory suggests that because in some versions of the pokedex, Ho-Oh's feathers or seeing it is supposed to grant the person eternal happiness - according to legend that is. Ash himself saw
Ho-Oh right at the very beginning of the first season of the anime, making it possible that Ho-Oh granted Ash's greatest wish, making him truly happy, which could be why Ash is still 10.
Theory 3: Ash is DEAD
In the Pokemon Episode "The Tower Of Terror", a chandelier fell on Ash and Pikachu. Haunter then pulled their souls out of their bodies, causing them to become ghosts. At the end of the episode Ash and Pikachu returned to their bodies, making it possible that Ash and Pikachu are ghosts possessing their old bodies, could be why Ash is still a 10 year old trainer.
Theory 4: Ash is a Time Lord
Now this may be a bit of a crossover but time lords age very slowly. They can regenerate to heal themselves or to change appearance, explaining why Ash changes looks throughout different seasons of the anime. So it would make perfect sense if Ash were a Time-Lord from the planet Galifrey.
Theory 5: The people in the Pokemon universe age slowly
Now this theory is one that I came up with, so please don't judge. I think that the people in the world of Pokemon age slowly because in some of the other theories, they only think that Ash ages slowly, but if only Ash ages slowly, then how are Misty and Brock still the same age in the Sun and Moon anime as they were when they were in the original anime? And if Ash ages slowly (or not at all), then how is Serena still the same age as Ash in the XY anime, and the same age as when they met at summer camp in the Kanto region, several years before?
