Sammy walked to school a little bit slower that day, partially hoping that nobody would nobody would notice the package that he was carrying in his hands. Even for today, the package looked wayyy too huge.
“Hey Sammy! What’s that you got there?” Sammy sighed as Archie walked over to him, his own backpack being bulged out a little bit more than normal.
“Guess what day it is,” Sammy replied, trying to keep from glancing at Archie’s oddly large backpack every other second.
“I know what day it is. Why else would this be there?” Archie asked. He motioned to his backpack, then winked at Sammy. Archie reached into his bag and pulled out a rectangular box.
"Chocolates? Creative. Who're they for?" Sammy asked, glancing down once again at his own present. Art skills paid off when it came to valentine's day. Art skills and spare time.
In response to the question, Archie showed Sammy a small card attached to the edge of the box of chocolates. For Taylor.
Sammy froze. Archie liked her too? Fantastic. Sammy was going to be a rival with his best friend. Unless he could lie to get rid of the problem for now . . .
"Who's yours for?" Sammy was brought back around by his friend's question.
"Secrets, my friend. Secrets," Sammy and Archie laughed. But Sammy was still worried. Then it came to him. Archie's present was signed by him. Sammy's was not. He'd been planning on signing it during Math (his first period), but now he had second thoughts about it. Maybe now Taylor would be getting one valentine from Archie, and One Valentine from a secret admirer. . .
