True Love

by Mockingchu

Mockingchu For @LittleGreenBean's adoptable Ralts. I have no idea what the point of adoptables is, but why not? Plus, this was fun to write.
She sat down, dejected. Defeated. At odds with the world. Her one true love had turned her down once again.

"You- You doing okay, Jenna?" her friend asked, walking over.

"Doesn't even matter how I'm doing," Jenna snorted, wiping away a black tear that had absorbed her mascara.

"Come on, Jenna," her friend sighed, "Don't get like this."

"Isa, you just don't understand," Jenna sobbed, "You don't understand what it's like to love this deeply!"

Jenna had a point. Isa had never really been in love. She had dated Nevin back in, what was it? Fourth grade? The first of many boyfriends for her. They were high schoolers now. Jenna wanted something deeper, riched, while Isa searched for whoever had the best abs. Isa was dating a boy (a man, more like it) named Taylor. Taylor was tan, year-round, which was a bit strange for their dreary New England town. The sun only came out twice every week, it seemed. Yet, Taylor had bronze skin, as if he were a sculpture. Speaking of sculptures- his mucles! Soooooooo sculpted. And his abs (did I mention those yet)? Isa nearly shattered her fingers just running them over those glorious humps of muscle. She could get lost in his abs. His eyes too. A sparkling blue. A blue that reminded Isa of pictures that displayed Florida beaches.

Jenna? She wasn't into that kind of stuff. Sure, abs were hot. Sure, blue eyes that reminded a person of a beach were great. But Jenna wanted love. Something she needed. Needed to survive.

Every once and a while, Jenna would get somewhere with her soulmate. Perhaps they'd work for a while. Have a spark. A bit of chemistry. Then it would cut out. Like a plug being torn from an electrical socket. Then Jenna would break down. Like she was doing now.

"I do so understand what it's like to love!" Isa shot back.

"You love Taylor's abs, not Taylor," Jenna countered, sucking snot up to keep it from dripping.

"I- uh- okay you got me," Isa shrugged, grinning, "Gum?"

Jenna nodded quickly. Isa snatched a pack of bubblegum from her pocket. She flicked open the top, and flipped a piece over to Jenna. Jenna sniffled, smiled back, and unwrapped the gum. Isa tossed her piece into her mouth, and blew a bubble.

POP!

Jenna's phone lit up in sync with Isa's bubble popping. Could it-

Oh my-

No way-

Yes... Yes...! YES!

Jenna's love- it was back! Jenna's face lit up brighter than her phone.

"Isa! I'm loved! I'M LOVED!" Jenna shrieked.

Only for a moment. The love vanished. Yeah...

The WiFi connection was lost yet again.

Well I figured for a true story I needed more than just a comment. Thanks. Uh, what do you do with adoptables?

Alright, it is now yours. Bonus points for being extra and making a creative corner piece.
