So I kinda lied... it wasn't an exact friendship...
Dj and Pain were in a race, seeing who could make it to the first gym. Dj had collected a pikachu and Pain, a magby. They were at each other throats the whole time threatening about their "Abilities".
The professor however, had just realized what those waves were he saw earlier... and without warning, raced for the children...
"I bet I'm gonna get a Grass type before you!", Dj said, with her confident peppy attitude. "Grass Types suck... go for Steel", Pain replied in the least sarcastic way he could. About that time there was a blood curdling scream from the trees ahead. The both stopped, a little afraid of what was next. Out of the woods stepped a red, giant figure, with 3 arms and a large tree branch. It resembled a Machoke in a way... it looked the kids in the eyes, raised it's club, and ran towards them!
Pain began to reach for his mask, while Dj created a small shadow claw in her pocket. Both prepared for the worst when from behind them came Professor Koda! Riding on his jolteon, he rammed in to the Red figure and jumped off. He reached for his pocket and considered the enemy at hand... if it was a fighting type, then psychic would work best. He exclaimed," Go Esp-" and froze. He was in such a rush he forgot to grab anymore pokemon than Jolteon. fearing for the new trainers lives, he battled on... He called out various moves, Quick attack, Thunderbolt, Shock wave! Anything he could! Finally he beat the beast and instead of fainting... it dissolved?
Dj and Pain stood staring... never had they seen a professor like this. He turned around, wiped the sweat from his brow, and said... "Well, I was hoping I'd get the day off after you two left, but it looks like that wasn't so."
