The Spearows and the Combees

by HeyItsPip

HeyItsPip A late valentines special for my book on wattpad. Here it is, copy and pasted. Its supposed to be a stereotype breaking eeveelution shipping story, this takes place when they’re eevees. Flareon x leafeon.
It was Valentine's Day. All of the young pokémon were exchanging cards and candy to each other. The club's counselor was at her desk watching over the little mons. Paige sat at her desk next to Silas.

Silas did not attend school, or an after-school club for that matter, but he was invited to engage in today's activities by Paige.

The club was supposed to make pop up cards for a friend, along with other Valentines related activities.

"Man, I do not get this at all." Silas would say, folding a strip of paper back and forth. Paige rolled her eyes. "I told you this literally five times now! Make it pop back up, like an accordion, and then stick it on the paper."

She reached for the long accordion of folded paper and dabbed some glue on it. "Here."

"Gee, thanks," Silas replied to his friend as he glued the paper accordion. Paige grabbed a nearby red paper heart.

"Now, glue this onto the strip of paper," she told Silas. Silas applies the sticky glue to the heart and stuck it onto the paper accordion.

"What now?" he asked. "You're supposed to write something on the little heart," replied Paige.

"Like...what?" Silas asked. "Oh, you know. Something mushy and lovey-dovey," the female Eevee said back.

Silas reached for a pencil and scribbles down something. Paige peered over and read the words.

"Let's... find out... where babies... come from... together. Eeewww, Silas!" She laughs, a scowl from a Silas silencing her. "Not that mushy and lovey-dovey!" Paige giggles.

"Fine, fine," Silas replied, erasing the words he wrote. He scribbled again. "This better?" he asked, showing Paige.

Paige peered over once more. "Perfect!" She exclaimed.

As the counselor came around and took up all the crayons, scissors, and glue, Silas turned to Paige. "What's next, boss?" He asked.

"Shh! You'll find out." She motioned for Silas to sit down.

The counselor, a Breloom, clapped her hands for everyone to silence down. "Kids! I hope you had fun making cards, but now we'll be doing something even more fun!"

Silas quietly scoffs.

"We'll be decorating sugar cookies!" The Breloom brung out a platter of cookies and packages of frosting, and passed them out to the mons.

A Squirtle, sitting in front of the two Eevees, grumpily looked at the cookies. Paige spoke up.

"Cas, you ok?" Paige said to her friend. Cascade looked up.

"Oh yeah, just swell," the Squirtle replied, trying to keep her eyes off of the sugary cookies. "Totally not mad after around four months, when I decorated Halloween cookies. Yeah, nothing like that."

The Breloom finished passing out the cookies. She began to speak. "Each table will have to share the frosting. Please don't fight!" said the counselor to the class.

"Yeah, that'll sure stop any issues," Silas quietly muttered to Paige. The frosting came in several colors: Red, pink, white, brown, and beige. Cascade instantly grabbed all of them.

"Hey!" Shouted a Torchic. "Gimmie some!" He reached over for the frosting, Cascade swiping his beak away.

As the two squabbled, the Torchic actually got one of the baggies. The Squirtle grabbed the other end, trying to keep it away from him. "Get your filthy beak off, Brendon!"

Pop!

The bag bursted, sending a glop of frosting in the two's faces.

"I WILL KILL YOU FOR THAT!!" the Squirtle exclaimed.

She sent a Water Gun to the Torchic, but missed due to the frosting in her eyes.

"Now, now! Don't fight!" Breloom said to the two. She escorted both quarreling starter pokémon out of the room.

Paige looked away from the scene. "I knew it was gonna happen," Silas commented. He smirked a little, picking up some of the beige frosting with a spoon.

The other Eevee did the same, this time with pink frosting, trying to spread it evenly onto the cookie.

Apollo, silent all this time, burst into laughter. "Ha! That was hilarious! The fact Cascade tried to hoard all of the frosting to herself and how she reacted!"

Arguing could be heard from outside of the room.

"And they're still going at it!" sighed Paige.

"It was pretty funny, though," said Silas as he finished putting icing on his cookie. After a while, Paige also completed her cookie.

Both of their cookies were pretty sloppy, seeing as they had nothing to put the frosting on the cookie but their paws and spoons.

Silas' cookie was pretty... interesting. It seemed like he tried to put every color in a row, but seeing as he couldn't do that, just mixed every color together and made the cookie stacked with frosting.

Paige, on the other hand, basically didn't even try. She put a generic pink on the cookie, and nothing else.

Apollo's was no better. It was a poorly drawn Dedenne. At least the colors didn't mix up too much.

"Let's see if there's any sprinkles," Paige said to Silas, hoping to brighten up their gross looking cookies. Apollo grabbed tiny, tiny gumballs to use as eyes.

Paige eyed a plastic container of round, white sprinkles. She picked it up and started to apply the tiny sprinkles to her cookie, only for it to spill all over the dessert.

Silas put pink heart sprinkles on his cookie. That didn't turn out great either, since the a majority of the sprinkles missed the frosting, littering the floor instead.

"Heh!" Apollo said, watching the two mess up. "My cookie looks the best! Now, imma go give the cookie to the counselor, so she can give me permission to eat it!"

Picking up his cookie, he waltzed to the desk of the counselor, still holding back Brendon and Cascade from decorating cookies. Once he got accepted, he walked back to the desk, before tripping on some gumballs he dropped.

"NOOOOOOOOO!" He wails, dropping his cookie. Apollo's cookie broke into two as it hit the floor.

"WHYY!!" Apollo exclaimed, looking down at his now ruined treat."That's why you watch where you're going, Apollo," Paige told the mouse pokémon as she helped him up.

Scowling, he sulked off to the corner everybody dubbed the Opinion Corner, where you can shout all your thoughts, and sat down, still scowling.

"Looks like he's not going to come back for a while." Silas smiled. "That's nice."

Once everybody turned in their cookies and got accepted, the Breloom clapped her hands once again.

"Now it is time for our snack break!" the grass and fighting type announced. All of the students cheered.

Apollo took out his bag, and after returning to his table, pulled out a large sub sandwich. "At least i have you," he said to his food before taking a huge bite out of it.

Silas looked disgusted. "You talk to your food?"

Apollo glares at him. "Is there a law saying I can't? No! Lemme eat it in peace!" He popped the olive in his mouth, toothpick and all.

Silas rolled his eyes and silently muttered "Weirdo." as he took another handful of Paige's cheese and crackers.

Cascade and Brendon, by now free to eat snack, both glared and argued with eachother while eating. A shiny Chespin, sitting at one of the other tables nearby, joined arguing with the two.

"Serves you right, Cas. You know better then to fight over frosting."

"Yeah! Why'd you need to hoard all the frosting?" Brendon exclaims.

"Oh please. Quill, who was the one who dropped all the orange frosting last Halloween?" Cascade snarls.

The shiny Chespin stayed silent.

The Torchic grumbled and pecked at his food. "Dumb turtle," he muttered under his breath.

Paige took a bite of her cracker. "Will they ever stop fighting?" she asked to particularly nobody.

"Yeah. When they're fully evolved," Apollo replied, picking his teeth with his spit-covered toothpick after wolfing down the rest of the sandwich.

Paige grimaced and nodded slowly, eating some more cheese.

Silas just colored his Valentines card with the markers that didn't get picked up.

The remaining markers Silas used were the colors teal, orange, and beige.

"Man, that's one ugly card," laughed Apollo as he looked at Silas's craft.

"Hey, at least I didn't accidentally drop my cookie," the Eevee retaliated.

Apollo looks away as Silas kept scribbling down color. He really had nobody to give this to, seeing he lived on the streets and all. Except...

"Hey, Paige?" Silas padded over to the Eevee, throwing away her trash. "Hm?" She looked over.

Slowly, Silas took out the crudely colored letter and gave it to Paige.

"Happy Valentine's Day," Silas quickly said to the other Eevee. He quickly trotted off.

Paige read the heart on the sheet of paper. It read...

"I find you the least annoying, Valentine."

@RenzFlintrock thank you for the criticism! yeah, you learn a bit more about Apollo in the actual book, since I haven’t posted the prologue and chapter 1, and I’m still a bit lazy at checking everything and stuff like that. thanks again!

Aww... I really like that ending. I do have a few pointers: you skipped around from tense to tense at times, so that some things are Past tense, some are present, and at one point there’s future tense. I also would’ve liked to know a bit more about Apollo, because I don’t think you ever stated what he actually was, although I guessed he was a Dedenne. Overall, though, I really enjoyed reading this. You showed the personalities of the classmates very well, and the few things I mentioned were the only real detractors I saw.
