Startled by the sudden noise, a frightened Jack jumped into the air and stumbled down a small but steep hill, colliding head on into a Riolu who was the source of the noise, who had been repeatedly ramming his fists into the trunk of a tree. The Riolu was sent flying into a boulder covered in thick green moss that was littered with morning dew, sending cracks through the whole rock. Jack luckily didn't suffer the same fate as Riolu since the impact with him had stopped Jack in his tracks (if you call the roughed up dirt that Jack left behind him tracks).
Riolu collapsed onto the ground, gasping for breath along with Jack, but soon got up and angrily decided to tackle Jack. With a mighty "GET TACKLED!" Riolu ferociously attacked Jack and sent him sprawling half way up the hill, but only to come crashing back down. Riolu smirked in satisfaction, proud of his strength that he had been trying to increase.
"Ugh, my head," thought Jack, cringing from the injuries that Riolu had given to him. "What was that for? I didn't fall into you on purpose! This is just a big misunderstanding, let's act civilized about this-there's no reason to be..... beating yourself up about it!" shouted Jack, smirking at that last remark.
Riolu had thought about accepting the apology, until he heard the bad joke which he reacted to with a scowl. He took a step forward, planning to tackle Jack again, but remembered what his mother had recently told him.
"Ryan, you need to stop getting so sensitive about every little problem that comes around you. Be more like your father, calm down and think about what is going on and think of a better solution to the problem. Fighting isn't always going to be the solution to every issue you have, though there will be some times when it is necessary." Ryan reconciled on his mother's words and took a deep breath, calming himself. He was still very annoyed with the rambunctious Minun, but at least he wasn't trying to attack him anymore. Ryan held out a paw to Jack. "I don't really appreciate your comedic attitude, so please don't ever say that to me again. I know we had a rough greeting, so let's start again-I'm Ryan, who are you? I would at least like to know the name of the Pokémon who sent me flying into a rock."
"I'm Jack, sorry about what happened-it really was an accident. I was just roaming through the woods, looking for my little sister, you know? said Jack, internally relieved that Ryan had calmed down. Ryan's expression softened at the mention of Lindsey. "Yeah, she has been gone for almost five days now, and it isn't easy to find a Plusle in a forest of this size. I starting to think that someone might have kidnapped her or worse," sighed Jack, worrying about Lindsey again.
"You shouldn't worry so much, Jack. My older brother told me that when I was younger, I ran off too, but he always found me. Your sister, what was her name? You'll find her, I know you will."
"Easy for you to say," bitterly thought Jack. "You weren't the one looking for you're sibling."
"Yeah, but I'm more worried because she is barely even younger than me. Only by an hour. Lindsey can handle herself, and she always meets me at the same spot everyday if we part ways."
"Hmmm..." replied Ryan, thinking about what Jack had said.
"If that is true, there is a possibility that Lindsey was kidnapped...this could be really bad," worriedly thought Ryan. "Jack, I've got good news and bad news."
"What's the good news?" eagerly asked Jack.
"The good news is that I think I know where Lindsey is," Jack's ears perked up at the sound of this, and he opened his mouth in surprise. "What's the bad news?" he asked, not thinking it could be all that bad.
"The bad news is that you are not going to like where she is," Ryan grimly responded.
