He's been dating Michael since not long before he got scooped
He and Michael moved in together after Mike got scooped. Fritz was pretty self conscious about his scars (the ones he'd gotten from being stuffed by Freddy, he survived but not without injuries) and Michael would pretty much never go outside after being scooped but after a while of being together they started to boost each other's confidence and would start to go out together a little more bc who cares what the world thinks when your bf thinks you're handsome.
