Fantasy RP Ideas: The Gods

by Dapper_Cat

Dapper_Cat A summary of the Gods and Goddesses of my Fantasy Universe.
History and Lore of the Gods

The Gods some times interfere in the affairs of mortals. Some for the benefit of both parties, some for the benefit of either, and some for their own amusement. Although it is rare, some times, the Gods go to the realm of mortals and procreate. The gods can take the form of whichever species they wish. As such, they pass down the genetics of that species along with their godly blood. These men and women are known as meta-gods. Some times these children live out mostly normal lives with the gifts their godly parents bestowed upon them, though this is extremely rare. Most meta-gods are destined to go on at least one dangerous, nearly-suicidal quest. These are often never small things. These are usually feats that go into the history of the land. While not confirmed, it is believed that meta-gods, after their death, become minor gods. While not as important as the ones worshiped in large shrines, they are often prayed to as well by those affected by their deeds.

The Gods

Nasir, the leader of the Gods. He is the patron god of music, life, and mercy. He has many children among the gods, but he rarely has children with mortals. As the head of the Gods, he is often worshiped by all. While he is usually depicted differently with each race, unlike most other Gods, he is more than often depicted as an Elf. This is because he is the oldest of the Gods, and the oldest known race are Elves. Because of this, even many non-Elven civilizations depict Nasir as an Elf.

Raelyn, the wife of Nasir and goddess of love, marriage, procreation, and the newborn. Despite being the goddess of procreation, Raelyn has never had children with mortals. Because she is Nasir's wife, her depiction also greatly varies among races, but she is widely depicted as an Elf.

Gallas, god of the sun and courage. Usually worshiped by the Gatandres and soldiers, he is the elder brother of Diala and the eldest child of Nasir and Raelyn. He often has a rivalry with his sister, Diala. His preference for race seems to be humans.

Diala, goddess of the Moon, time, and stealth. Usually worshiped by nocturnal races such as the Lufenus as well as thieves and assassins. In the structure of the Gods, she is the second child of Nasir and his oldest Daughter. Diala has a rivalry with her older brother, Gallas. Because of the large amount of Felinar and Lufenus she is worshiped by, Diala is usually depicted as one of them, although she is sometimes depicted as a Lykoire instead.

Gwera, goddess of war. She is not related to any other Gods, save for her husband. She is often prayed to by soldiers heading off to battle or families praying for their family member's safe return. As one would imagine from the Goddess of War, she is rather merciless and doesn't think much of mortals. Because she values brute strength and willpower, Gwera often takes the form of Gatandres, making her favorable among the cat-like people.

Fiksas, god of war-time strategies, art, and architecture. He is married to Gwera. He is often prayed to by architects, sculptors, artists, generals, leaders, and strategists. Because he appreciates the intelligence of the Lufenus, he often takes the appearance of one. Therefore, he is favorable among the lupine-like people.

Kastelsi, goddess of the sea and archery, and sister to Nasir. She is often prayed to be sailors, elves, and other archers. Because of their natural seafaring nature, Kastelsi is usually depicted as a Lykoire.

Va'hinmal, god of the neverworld (essentially Hell), destruction, the dead, and divorce. Brother to Nasir and Kastelsi. Va'hinmal is usually only prayed to for the hopes of a divorce working, or when someone wished for someone else to die or for great destruction.

The Tainted God

Avarama, the pinnacle of evil. He was banished to the deepest pits of the neverworld, locked away and supposedly destroyed, except for his ashes. Several large cults have been trying to resurrect the Tainted God for a long time, now. None have yet to succeed.
