Chapter 9: The Island Adventures
On board the boat, the sun was shining heavily. It was starting to get later, but the sky was still light. There, Moon was talking to her friends about her and Sun's childhood. "He was always ahead of me, and I always wanted to do stuff like he did, but that one year different always held me back." She finished. "What about you Lillie?" Lillie looked to the ground and blushed. "Oh... I don't really want to talk about me." "Oh! I just realised I left the egg at..." Mal interrupted. Everybody looked at her puzzled. "Flame's parents gave me a Pokemon egg for him, and I left it at the dayacare in Paniola town. That's not too far away from Heahea city, where we stop." Flame was really hyped. "I guess we just have to continue on then." Meanwhile, in Heahea city on Akala island, Sun and Hau had just arrived, and were battling. "Go Dartrix! Use Razor Leaf!" Pikachu fell back as it was finally knocked out. "Ah c'mon! Okay Torracat, finish this!" Torracat jumped forwards towards Dartrix. "Use Fire Fang!" Dartrix was knocked out as it was grasped with the burning jaws of Torracat. Sun sent out his final Pokemon, Rockruff. "Use Rock throw!" Rockruff dropped a huge circular rock onto Torracat, crushing it and knocking it out. "Return Torracat! We did better than last time. Well, I guess it's time for some Malasada. Just a quick stop Sun, I promise." Sun sighed as he followed Hau into the Malasada shop.
Amongst the bright, puffy yellow flowers of Melemele Meadow stood the lone solitary figure of the mysterious stranger, his cloak swaying in the wind. He rolled up his cloak to observe the screen built in to his costume. On it where many graphs and charts, calibrations on Ultra Energy frequency. He swiped to bring up the photos that had appeared in the news, of a large, muscular, red insect like creature, amongst the flowers of Melemele Meadow. As he swiped the photos back away, the wind started to pick up to the left, almost blowing his cloak away. The frequency graph started to flash red, the energy signs going off the charts. He turned to see the Ultra Beasts from the photo. Yes, two of them. He was not expecting this, but he had contingency plans in place. The Pokemon lunged towards him, but just in time Staraptor flew in, using Brave Bird, slicing along the chests of the Pokemon. They fell back. He pulled up another chart on the screen. 4x SUPER EFFECTIVE flashed across the screen, pulling up a type chart. That narrowed down the possible types it could be. However, they both pulled themselves back up, their four short legs swivelling to lift them up. Hm. Bulky. That moment, Staraptor came back around for a second Brave Bird, and the two Pokemon fell back as Staraptor dashed into them, landing atop each other. He pressed a large red button on the screen to record. "UB log 2.5. UB-02, Buzzwole. Codename Absorption. Two recorded specimens. Four recorded sightings. Sighting at Melemele Meadow, engaged specimens, specimens exhibited critical weakness to Flying. Possible typings noted: Bug-Fighting, Grass-Bug, Grass-Fighting." He stopped his recordings as the defeated Beasts were dragged away into a wormhole. Meanwhile on the boat, Lillie received a call from Burnet. "Lillie, it's Burnet. Listen closely, this is important. The UB's have appeared all over. 12 wormholes have appeared over Melemele since the Fallers arrival. Be careful on Akala, move quickly.... Bzzt... wormholes appearing now... loads of them bzzzzzzt.... watch out....... static interference......" the call went flat with static, and everyone looked up to witness several wormholes appearing around Melemele. At that moment, the boat docked at Heahea city and they disembarked.
"Woah! Heahea city is huge!" Moon wondered, not watching where she was going. "Oops, sorry!" She apologised as she bumped into someone. That someone turned around. "Sis?" "Sun!" She shouted as they hugged tightly. "I was worried about you with all the wormholes appearing around Melemele." Later, Flame and Rose had decided to have a Double Battle against Sun and Hau.
Out first were Pikachu and Drifloon against Pikachu and Dartrix. "Flame, I need you to take out Hau's Pikachu so it doesn't hit me with Thundershock." Rose suggested. "Okay, use Electro Ball!" Hau didn't know what to do, so did the same. "Uh, Pikachu! Do what he did!" Both Pikachu jumped towards the sky, flipping and throwing a ball of electricity from each of their tails. They were both as fast as each other, and their attacks both collided in the air, causing an explosion that threw them back. Hau's Pikachu was fainted, but Flame's Pikachu was still clinging on. It was more experienced, having evolved first. Dartrix used Razor Leaf, splitting the attack to hit both Pokemon. Drifloon was worried about the attacks, they could pop it, and Pikachu was on low health. It didn't do much to either Pokemon however. Hau sent out Torracat, as Drifloon used Gust to throw back Dartrix. Dartrix used Peck, knocking out Pikachu. "Go, Drifloon! Use Gust!" Dartrix fainted under the power of the attack, falling from the strong wind as it still attempted to fly. "Use Fire Fang Torracat!" Drifloon fainted under the pressure of the attack on it's inflatable body. Sun sent out Rockruff, Flame sent out Frogadier, and Rose sent out Buneary. "Use Water Pulse Frogadier!" The heavy Blast of water dealt a large amount of damage to Torracat, confusing it. It tried to use Fire Fang in retaliation, but missed completely. Buneary used Pound, leaping up and spinning gracefully to hit it with an ear, Torracat finally giving out. Rockruff used Rock Throw, knocking Buneary off Torracat and onto the floor. "It's time Frogadier! Use Water Pulse!" A final ball of water flew from Frogadiers mouth, hitting Rockruff and finishing it. "Well done." Sun remarked. They headed to the Pokemon Center, healing their Pokemon, then headed to Route 4, Sun and Hau getting far ahead of the group. Moon looked at everyone. "Come on! What are we waiting for? Let's catch up with my brother and get to Paniola town!" The group sped up, ready for their new adventure on Akala.
