Flarea looked around her cave, it was a huge cave that she and her family lived in. She got out of her chamber and went into the main part of the cave. There she saw her mother, a huge Wind Dragon, and asked her “When will you teach me to fly?”
Her mother replied” You are still too young, Flarea. You are still 4,000 years old. I’ll teach you when you are 6,000.”
“Okay,” said the young dragoness.
As she left the cavern Flarea held her head in shame and said to herself” Why must I wait? Brother and sister tease me for not being able to fly. I want to fly now!” And just as they read her thoughts her siblings came.
“Hi Blaze, Windraza.” said Flarea.
“Oh, look it’s the deformed,” said Windraza. Deformed is what they call Flarea because she has scales red as rubies like a Fire Dragon and a sleek aerodynamic body like a Wind Dragon.
“Yeah.” Blaze laughed nervously.
“Will you please leave me alone,” replied Flarea,” I am going to Father.”
” Sure!” Blaze said eagerly.
” Why should I?” replied Windraza as she shot Blaze a dirty look.
“Because she asked you to.” said a huge, red dragon with a gentle, booming voice.
“Father, I was looking for you!” said the eager young dragoness as Windraza ran off, with Blaze trailing behind her.
“I know,” said the gentle beast, “You look for me this exact time every day.”
“Well, I just like talking to you,” Flarea stated
Her father smiled down at her. Flarea loved his gentle face it was always so comforting to look at. “So, Windraza and Blaze were bullying you again?”
“Yes.”
“Hmmm. I think I’ll talk to them about it. Such actions are not acceptable in this cave.”
“Hey, uh, sorry Flarea. You know how Windraza is. Very, very pushy” Blaze apologized as he entered the cavern.
Flarea’s dad nodded in approval, and Flarea went to go hug her brother. But during this sentimental moment, a rumble of the cake sent rock falling on top of them. A huge roar could be heard from outside. Flarea’s dad’s face wrinkled with worry.“Flarea, Blaze, you need to get out of here! If you see Windraza on the way tell her to get out as quick as she can! Hide and don’t come out! We’re under attack!”
Flarea and Blaze ran as fast as they could, stopping only to warn her sister and together they got out of the cavern and hid. They sat there for some time and heard sounds of roaring.
“I wonder who is attacking” Flarea whispered.
“Nobody good, I mean they are attacking our parents, and they rule over all the dragons quite fairly.” replied Blaze in a hushed tone. One hour passed and they heard a painful screech, that's when Blaze shot up in the air and said,” We have to help them, are you two with me!”
“Of course I am with you, Blaze. What about you Flarea."
“Father said to hide and don’t come out, so I won’t leave until I am sure he is gone. Please don’t go, if he could kill our parents then he could kill you.”
“Sorry Flarea, but me and Windzara, we have to do this. You can stay here though, we’ll get out there if it gets too dangerous.”
As her siblings flew off she hoped they would fare better than her parents did, but knew she would never see them again, or at least in a long time. She waited for a long time for the intruder left. At last, she thought as the massive dragon left the cave, but he hovered for a little bit and said “I will find you little whelp and when I do you will suffer the same fate as the rest of your family. MY REIGN HAS BEGUN! RAGENROK’S RAIGN HAS BEGUN!” he said the last sentence louder than the rest and then he flew off.
After Flarea was sure he was gone she ran into a forest where she lives now and where our story begins.
