Dog was thinking.
His mind swirling,
Thoughts twirling,
He was thinking…
“If only I could get some food, like cat other there...” He grunted. Looking over to the local cat he thought to himself “She’s got food, so why can’t she share…?”
He took his mind off her and started to look for food in the bins.
“No, Nope, can’t eat that. Sigh” He said to himself, throwing away old bits of rubbish. “All I’ve found is this crummy old wishbone!”
Then Dog had an idea. He could trade the wishbone for some food! He just needed to make cat believe it worked…

The next day, dog strolled over to where cat was resting.
“Hey Kitty, Look what old Dogs got!” He Said.
Cat Yawned. “What’s THAT? Another mouldy slice of bread, or an old chicken leg?” She asked, confused.
“No itty bitty Kitty…” Dog Smirked “It’s an AMAZING wishbone! And it actually works!”
Cat was interested now. “If it really works, Prove It!”
Dog gulped and walked over under an old apple tree.
“So you rub the wish bone between your hands, do a little twirl, then say your wish” He said, preforming the action. “I wish for an apple” A red apple fell into his hand.
Now this was just luck, and a gust of wind, it wasn’t his wish.
“If you give me some food, I’ll let you have it…” Smirked Dog
“DEAL!” Screamed Cat, excitedly. A few seconds later cat returned with a box full of food. Roast chickens, Baguette loafs, A dozen scones, jam and cream, and countless more delicious foods.
The next day, dog prepared a feast for himself in the field, while cat was wishing for a lot of money. And I mean a lot.
“I WISH FOR TEN BILLION POUNDS!!” Squealed Cat, after preforming the actions. Later that day cat brought a lottery ticket (In which the top prize was Ten billion pounds, in case you were wondering) and won the top prize. So cat decided to build a gigantic mansion on a giant field. A week later, Dog came over.
“HEY CAT! DONE WITH THAT PHONY-“He gasped. A giant mansion stood in front of him.
“That Wishbone really does work! I need to get it back!” He thought.
“Ha Dog! You eaten all the food? Too bad, I got myself TEN MILLION POUNDS!” Shouted Cat from the bedroom balcony.
“I’ll Trade it back for my lucky Wing bone! You can get your wishes quicker with it” Begged Dog.
“No Dog, A deal is a deal and that’s final” She stated, and walked back inside.
Moral: Luck is only granted to those who believe in it.
(I still like this story despite it being almost 3 years old)
