Though one of (if not thee) my favorite generations is Gen1, I always loved the idea that you could have a, lets say, Charmander you transferred from Heart Gold that is over a decade old, and have them battle Pokemon that weren't even close to being a spark in someones mind when you first got said Charmander. That idea is so astounding to me that I never find myself complaining about getting more Pokemon. I mean, I'll complain about how some Pokemon completely dominate the meta game and cause a lack of variety in PvP, but that's more the fault of the competitive scene, not the Pokemon. I'm always happy to take my old-school team from Fire Red, Diamond, and Heart Gold and throw them against a new generation of Pokemon!
And anyone who knows me here, even a bit, shouldn't be surprised that I leveled a Charmander to 100 way back in the DS days! ^^
So yeah, that lead to me wanting to draw a picture of Embertail battling a Sobble, nothing to special, tried to do a few new "effects" with the water-gun and Brick Break, which I thought came out alright. I always "head-cannoned" that most (if not all) Fighting-Type attacks channel "Chi" or some other kind of spiritual martial-arts based energy when attacking. Which is what separates a Fighting-Type attack from a normal punch or kick. It could all just be in the technique though with no "energy" involved, but I like to imagine their's something a bit more "magical" to it.
As always, thanks to everyone who likes, comments, ect.
Pokemon is copyright Nintendo, Game Freak, ect...I heard a lot of Pokemon that came out in later Gens were actually designed for Red, Blue, and Green, but didn't make the cut at the time. After seeing all the beta leaks, I wonder what's the oldest "reused" Pokemon, like was Grooky original made for Gen 1 and we're only now seeing a finished concept? Probably not, but it can still make ya think.
