It seems like the person here has been beaten by not only themselves, but by others. The neutral expression reveals just that; a lack of emotion. The purple eyes caught me a bit off guard, I'd have to say.

In most (if not all) mood rings, purple means calm. This person has accepted the darkness of everything, accepts the punishment and has no drive to leave it.
A person lost in the welcoming dark.
