The late-night shopper heard a mysterious rattling noise behind him. He turned around to investigate te noise. A rat came squeaking out in front of his path and he whirled around. When he saw it was only a rat be breathed out a sigh of relief. Then, out of nowhere, growling and snarling, a mysterious figure lept out from a nearby alley and attacked him. The very last thing he saw was cat ears.
The next week, Zero Cross read the newspaper headlines, "Another Found Viciously Clawed to Death." Zero got up and grabbed his laptop then sat down at his kitchen table. He cross referenced human, cat, fangs, and claws and came up with surprising results. "Ah, so it's a Neko? I thought they were loners," Zero thought to himself. Zero decided to call his friend Lucy who was a fangirl of just about anything and everything. "Hey, Lucy, can you tell me all you know about Nekos?" Zero asked. "Sure, Zero, but what for? Are you trying to find that killer?" she asked. "Yes, now can you please help me?" Lucy proceeded to tell Zero all she knew about Nekos.
