I wake up on a bed in a cell and immediately groan. “Really?” I look over the bed, which still has the blue sheets, to see the Trainer from before. I think his name was Gold? He looks up at me.
“You’re up,” He says. I can tell that he tried something because he has cuts and scars on his face.
I nod. “Looks like you tried something earlier. Word to the wise, these guys don’t care about our safety,” I warn.
“How did you even get out of here in the first place?”
“I chucked a spoon at one of the guards. He came in, probably to hit me, and I bolted.” We both sit in silence for a few seconds. Then we hear the other guy, Lance, shouting.
“You will not take the fight out of Dragon Master Lance!” Then there’s a ZAP and a THUD. Gold winces.
“That didn’t sound all that fun,” He says. I look down at my wrist and see a black bracelet.
“What’s this?” I ask. It wasn’t there before. The bracelet has a blinking red light. I slam it into the wall. It makes a beep sound and I barely have time to say “Wha-” before I get electrocuted. I scream. The electric shock lasts for five seconds before it stops, leaving me gasping for air. I hear someone shout my name from down the hall. It takes me a second since I’m disoriented, but I recognize the voice and shout it’s owner’s name. “RED!!!” I get an immediate response:
“You’re alive?!”
“Yes! And you’re alive too!”
“Yeah, but this guy might not be…”
“YOU SHALL NOT WIN!” I hear “Dragon Master” Lance shout. There’s the familiar sound of a facepalm from Red.
“Dude, we’re in a JAIL CELL,” He reminds Lance. Then I notice something.
“Wait, why’s no one guarding our cell?” I ask. Gold shrugs. “Did they take your Pokemon too?” I ask him.
“Yeah, and my XTransceiver,” He replies. “This place stinks.”
“Probably the sludge they call food,” I tell him. Gold frowns slightly and his brow furrows. “Something wrong?” I ask. “Y’know, other than the fact that we’re in a jail cell?” He sighs.
“My friend Lyra doesn’t know what’s going on. I’m worried about her,” He says. I can hear the worry in his voice. I pat him on the shoulder.
“I’ve got a friend that I’m worried about too. Apparently, when the Rockets kidnapped me, they left a note somewhere for Leaf. The note said that Giovanni had kidnapped us and that she couldn’t even hope to save us,” I try to make him at least not worry about his friend. “We’ll get through this.” All he does is nod.
