This comic was inspired by some movie I saw around that time - I think Iron Man 2, maybe - which had an absurdly long credits roll. I know that a lot of people work on those movies, but man.
It logically had to follow that The Insane Asylum hires that many people, even though they don't actually produce that much.
"The thing with th' nose" is referring to Mr. Saturn, but is also a reference to Bone (a really fantastic comic).
