Third day of the Butterfly Month, 170th year since the first ‘celestial children.’
Christopher pulled the edge of the plum duvet from underneath my arm and slowly walked backwards, the duvet unravelling quickly.
The only problem with that method, was that I had gotten pulled upwards a little and thus fell back onto the floor face-first.
After I had put on a plum-coloured top with ruffled elbow-length sleeves and a pair of silvery-grey tights, in place of my tan-tinted ivory nightdress, I re-opened my door and headed into the hall.
Christopher was waiting to the side of the staircase, staring at the ceiling, as I drew closer; I noticed that, although he had a seemingly emotionless expression, a strong pink shade covering most of the middle and lower parts of his face.
“Is that the... fifth day in a row?” I said, chuckling a little. I was certain I knew what had happened.
Christopher glanced at me with a surprised look, before shaking his head. As he turned to the stairs, he said “Seventh...”
“You really ought to start knocking on Adriana’s door!” I exclaimed, heading down the stairs as well.
“M-miss Maria! Can you please stop teasing me like that?” Christopher turned to face me, his face turning almost as red as his hair and eyes. I sniggered a little, but said nothing more.
After most of the walk down the stairs being in complete silence after that, Christopher suddenly faced me and asked: “Why do me and her even care so much about it?”
“Is it not obvious?”
“Yes, but she isn’t- she doesn’t have- oh nevermind.”
