That movepool does sound more promising than Ponyta though. Only coverage it gets is Poison Jab, Bounce, and SolarBeam, and not until late in the game. :\

Dugtrio has a surprisingly good move pool. Sludge Bomb and Aerial Ace help against those pesky grass types, and for the water types, we really don't have anything. Those are the only two weaknesses, though. It can also learn shadow claw, which is really good when it comes to the elite 4.

Reasonable enough.
But there are some things that just stop you in your tracks regardless. Like using a Ponyta against Grant in X. Relicanth was impossible to beat.
I hope you don't run into something like that lol xD

The key to a solo-run, @SkySilvally, is to overlevel it a ton at the start. That way, it will be easier later on and require less grinding.

Oh, I know.
That's exactly why I have a level 16 diglett in a lvl 8-10 zone.
