Pokemon, Our Story: DopeLeafeon470

by DopeLeafeon470

DopeLeafeon470
It all started around 2012 or 2013, where I saw Pokemon for the first time.
It was actually at a friend's house, where I wanted Super Smash Bros. Brawl for some reason and asked him if we could play it.
We did, but the only characters I recognized were the Mario characters.
Cuz, you know, who doesn't?
I started as Luigi and spammed Green Missile because that was the only move I knew at the time.
Going back to the title screen, pretty much every character looked like they came straight out of a Rated M movie...except for the Pokemon.
So when I got home, I looked up Pokemon Trainer, because that was the character I enjoyed the look of the most, and went to Bulbapedia for the first time.
My knowledge about Pokemon only grew from there.
The next time I went to GameStop, I got my first ever Pokemon game: Pokemon White 2.
Yes, I played the sequel before the prequel, I deserve to be called out on that.
I chose Oshawott as my first ever starter, and Azurill as my first ever Pokemon caught in the wild.
I caught Woobat because I liked its cry.
Keep in mind, at the time, I had no idea what these Pokemon evolved into, so seeing them grow into more powerful monsters was really thrilling for me.
I remember it quite faintly, but I think the second Pokemon game I got was Pokemon Black 2 because I thought I lost Pokemon White 2.
I found it a couple years later.
And I got really greedy.
With both Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2, I could trade all my good Pokemon from White 2 to my Black 2 version, the version I was playing currently.
I had an all-powerful Samurott on my White 2, but for some reason, I traded Black 2's Azumarill for White 2's Woobat.
I already had a Swoobat on my Black 2 Version!
And I already had a Azurill on my White 2 Version!
Trading Samurott seriously would've been a better idea.
Speaking of my Black 2 Version, when I got the game, I was one of those people that never grinded and only used my starter.
After years of losing it, I finally found my White 2 cartridge and found I had a Level 5 Azurill on it.
That's how much I cared for the Pokemon that weren't my starter.
That habit carried to Black 2, where I have Emboar, which was my starter, and Cobalion, which I used my Master Ball on for some reason, as the only Pokemon I use.
The rest?
Boldore, Krookorock...other useless Pokemon.
Currently I'm on Victory Road, but by the looks of it, things weren't looking so hot.
The wild Pokemon there were higher-leveled than my Pokemon that weren't Emboar and Cobalion.
Yeah.
The second Pokemon game I owned wasn't the Gen 4 games, but Pokemon X.
I had to decide between Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon and Pokemon X, and I chose Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon.
Too bad I sucked at it.
So my mom got me Pokemon X.
And I enjoyed my time.
It became the first Pokemon game I completely finished.
I caught Xerneas, but for some reason, I never caught Zygarde.
I thought it was because I didn't really feel like hundred-percenting this game, and didn't have much time to do so before I got to my third Pokemon game, Pokemon Omega Ruby.
But we'll get to that later.
I chose Fennekin as my starter, and one time, Braixen was evolving and I accidentally pressed the B button.
I made a big mistake, so I soft resetted and pretty much had to start from way back.
I felt like I didn't play X much, so I deleted my file and created a Lifelocke file.
Now for my third Pokemon game.
Nowadays, I play Omega Ruby from time to time, but I could never recover my OG team.
I chose Torchic as my starter, and got Poochyena and Wurmple to start off my team with.
I got a Cascoon, which sucks, because I wanted a Beautifly.
Even though Beautifly is the worst Bug-Type.
The only Pokemon my sister knew besides Pikachu at the time was Beautifly, and to be honest, I expected worse.
She could've said Charizard, or something else.
I realized the only reason why she knew Beautifly was because it was her most powerful Pokemon Card at the time she was interested into those.
But hey, at least she had SOME sort of connection.
Anyway, Dustox carried me through some tough times, but I had to let him go in order to make room for better Pokemon.
I did have a Pelipper, and while other people think it's disgusting, I think it's pretty cute how Pelipper's beak is a part of its butt.
I eventually released a lot of those Pokemon, until the only Pokemon I kept that weren't legendary were Blaziken and Mightyena.
I had a Mightyena by the way.
Anyway, I caught pretty much every legendary you could catch in Omega Ruby, and left it to rot.
That leads me to my third Pokemon games, Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon SoulSilver.
I lost those two before I even fought the second gym leaders.
Then I got Sun and Moon, and caught up with the Pokemon bandwagon on the road to Ultra Sun and Moon.
Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon were the first Pokemon games when I was there the whole ride.
I was kind of there for Sun and Moon, but I wasn't there for the announcement.
Here? I was there for the announcement.
And I was pretty hyped for Pokken Tournament DX too, but for some reason, everyone thought that they teased us with Pokemon Switch.
And they're criticizing it because we didn't get Pokemon Switch.
Like, can we just be thankful we're getting a Wii U port for the only Pokemon game that released for it?
Including the characters that were only in the arcade version plus Decidueye, Aegislash, and Blastoise?
God...
anyway, I got Ultra Sun for Christmas, and I'm still working on it as of now.
(That's mostly because I got past the Ultra Necrozma fight, forgot to save, have my cartridge fall out of the 3DS, and have to start way back to the second Guzma fight. Yeah.)
Personally, I don't want much from Pokemon Switch.
Just give me Pokemon following, and I'll jump on the bandwagon.
Pokemon Switch could be the first step into new territory for Pokemon, and I'm excited to see what comes next, especially seeing how the reviewers criticize the series for only adding new Pokemon and story and nothing else.
This is being the Dopest of Leafeon, and I hop you all have a fabulous day!

This is Pokemon: Our Story. In the end of the Pokemon Switch teaser that released because the Pokemon Center in Japan was having its 20th anniversary, it said "Make Your Story."
So, to celebrate 22 Years of Pokemon and the upcoming release of Pokemon Switch, I'm starting a series of works made by people on Pokecharms, saying their story and how they came to like Pokemon.
Mechanist Gamma likes this.
