It was time for the festival and everyone was excited. I especially was because it’s was my first time battling. I breezed through my first two opponents, Snickers easily defeated a youngster’s Pekipeck. And the second round Snickers fought against a Snivy, which was won with one attack: Ember! The third round wasn’t so easy though, he had a Metang. It’s defense was high, but Snickers pulled through using power combined with his speed to defeat it.
I was in the final round, I was facing a new guy like me, except he was.. er.. suspicious. “Hey, you’ll be facing me next!” I introduced myself. “Hm? I thought that Metang would beat you. Your just winning by luck.”. “What was that!? And why does it matter?”. “I have two Pokémon and you just have a Litten.”. “So?” I asked, Snickers gave him a angry meow. “Don’t you know? In the final round, trainers must Battle with two Pokémon. But you have a measly one.”. “I g-guess he’s gotta point.”. “Fine. I’ll make a deal with you. I’ll let you leave the tournament to capture a Pokémon by nightfall, but if you fail... I’ll be declared the winner!”. “Deal! I’ll beat you!”.
I went to Route 1 to find a Pokémon. To my luck, I found a wild Pichu, but instead of fighting Snickers, he gave him a friendly “Pichu” and gave me hug. “Guess your not the battling type.”. Just then however, a wild Yungoose attacked me from behind, but to my surprise the wild Pichu used Thunder Shock on it to make it retreat. It protected me!? “Okay, Okay! I choose you Pichu, or should I call you: Baby Shock!” I said putting it in a Poké Ball. “Now I’ll show that buffoon!”.
I arrived back at Iki Town long before nightfall and was ready to fight that mysterious trainer. “I just realized this but I never asked for your name.” I said beforehand. “Well, I have no real name.”. “What!?”. “Many of my opponents call me by my Codname: Gladion.”. “Alright Gladion, prepare to face me! Pokémon Trainer Knight!”
His first Pokémon was a Frogadier, a Water Pokémon, so I sent in Baby Shock! “Water Pulse!” Gladion order, It hit Baby Shock hard! “Grr, use Thunder Shock!” I order my Pichu. Baby Shock’s attack was super effective! “Now Pursuit!” Gladion said. Baby Shock was almost defeated but I wasn’t done yet! “Sweet Kiss!” Baby Shock walked up to Frogadier and gave him a kiss, making it confused. But it easily broke out and knocked Baby Shock out with Tackle! “No!” I said. “Guess you are weak after all-. Wait a minute Frogadier!?” Gladion shouted. “Of course! Pichu’s Static ability! I should’ve known!” Gladion said to his Paralyzed Pokémon. “Okay! Go Snickers!” I said. “Rawwwwr!” Snickers purred! “Break out of the Paralysis Frogadier!” Gladion ordered, but it had taken so much damage from Baby Shock, that it couldn’t break out. “Our turn, Use Fury Swipes Snickers!” I commanded. With only two Fury Swipes, Frogadier was beaten. “Fine then! Go Type:Null!” Gladion said. “Type wha!? I’ve never seen that Pokémon!”. It was Now Snickers vs Type: Null for the winner of the tournament!
