Xerione crashed down onto something sticky. “Urrghh… Poleburn….” She complained. Flannere looked extremely spooked. “We. Are. Never. Doing. That. Again.” Flannere stuttered, shaking her head. “Wait- why is this sticky…?” She wondered aloud. “Oh no.” Xerione and Flannere exclaimed at the same time, realizing that the sticky thing was spiderweb. “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”
“Hey, are you two okay?” A boy asked, walking over to the pair. “Yeah. I just don’t really like bugs. Or sticky things.” Xerione responded. “Well, that’s a relief. You seemed to be freaking out.” The boy explained. “Well, anyways, guess what?” “What?” she asked reluctantly. “According to gym rules, I have to battle you now! Go, Metapod!” he yelled.
(A eternity of ember spam later…)
“Finally!” Xerione sighed. “Heya, trainer! How did you like my photogenic gym?” A voice asked her. Xerione looked up. “I’m Viola! Master bug trainer and photogerapher! Can I help you up onto my platform?” “Gladly.” Xerione laughed, and took Viola’s extended hand.
“So, are you here to challenge me?” She asked. “Yeah! I’m aiming to beat the league!” Xerione proclaimed proudly. “Nice! How many badges do you have?” Viola asked. “None. This will be my first!” Xerione responded. “Okay then. I will use these two pokemon.” Viola walked over to a drawer in her desk. She took out two pokeballs. “Let the battle begin!” Viola declared, and pressed the button on her pokeball. “Go, Surskit!”
A spider-like pokemon popped out of the pokeball. “Okay then! Flannere, you’re up!” Flannere smiled. “Are you ready to be BURNED, you spider freak?” She sneered. Xerione gave Flannere a death stare. “What? I picked up some puns from Yvonne. Anyways, you’re a baka if you think you can beat me!” Flannere smiled. “At least I don’t have a top-heavy trainer!” Surskit retorted. “T-top heavy?!” Xerione gasped. “What?” Viola asked. “Nothing! Flannere, use tail whip on him!” Xerione yelled. “With pleasure.” Flannere whipped her tail at the Surskit. “Okay then! Surskit, water sport! That means you’re fire type moves won’t be effective until Surskit faints!” Viola smiled. “I don’t NEED fire type moves this turn! Use scratch!” Flannere’s claws glew gold as she scratched at the Surskit. It’s health went down by ½. “Yeah! Critical hit! Nice job, Flannere!” Xerione cheered. “Urrgh… this isn’t good. Surskit, activate your ability! Use Icy Terrain!” Surskit smiled. “You need to COOL down!” It gave out a small cry, and the whole battlefield turned to ice.
