Magpyre ⟶ (Dusk Stone) Ravurn
Magpyre ⟶ (Shiny Stone) Phoeborn
#093 - Magpyre (magpie + pyre)
Immolation Pokémon
Dark/Fire-type
Once a symbol of augury and the unknown, they have adapted well to cities and are responsible for most bin fires.
Moveset: Leer, Ember, Peck, Astonish, Smog, Fire Spin, Confuse Ray, Night Shade, Will-o-wisp, Hex, Flame Burst, Beat Up, Pursuit, Sucker Punch, Wing Attack, Gust, Ominous Wind, Flatter, Nasty Plot, Snarl, Thief, Tailwind, Mean Look
#094 - Ravurn (raven + urn)
Immolation Pokémon
Ghost/Fire-type
Legends say that a phoenix burned too hot and was reduced to ashes, but the grudge that endured could act beyond death.
Base Stats: 60/55/90/125/90/80 (500)
Ability: Insomnia/Flash Fire/[Weak Armor] (The first physical attack used against this pokemon will not do damage, but its defense will drop and speed will increase. Subsequent hits don't have the immunity component)
Moveset: Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Dark Pulse, Shadow Ball, Memento, Curse, Pain Split, Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Haze, Spite, Grudge,
#095 - Phoeborn (phoenix + reborn)
Immolation Pokémon
Light/Fire-type
It was reborn as a creature of cold fire. It uses its spectral light to find hidden treasures and expose liars, who it will burn utterly.
Base Stats: 75/80/60/110/80/95 (500)
Ability: Illuminate (now has an in-battle effect: nullifies moves and abilities that obscure vision)/Flame Body/[Consecrate] (activates light-type environmental effect on switch-in)
Moveset: Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Overheat, Psychic, Energy Ball, Hurricane, Burn Up, Mystical Fire, Beacon, Dawn Call, Dazzle, Heaven's Light, Illumination, Light Blast, Lightmote, Shining Eye, Sunbeam, Sunmote, Sunburst, Purifying Fire
I'm not 100% happy with Phoeborn so I'll probably revisit it when I have a better idea.
Fake type alert: The Light-type is of course based on light from the sun, stars, electrical and firelight, etc. but also the full elecromagnetic spectrum-- i.e. radiation. It's also based on the fantasy of purification, celestial beings, and divine justice. Light attacks can cause the Blinded status effect (BLN), which sharply decreases accuracy, although some pokemon are not affected.
Currently in my notes I have the following type effectivenesses:
Attacking: 2x vs Dark, Ghost, Cosmic; 0.5x vs Fire, Grass, Steel, Crystal, Light
Defending: 2x damage from Ground, Dark; 0.5x damage from Fire, Electric, Fairy, Light, Cosmic
The Light-type will never happen in the games since they've gone and made a Sun and Moon pokemon without introducing it, but it's fun.
