Petalburg Woods, they were finally there, on the outskirts of Rustburo City. Cy was looking around. "Hey! Look!" Said Cy, pointing to the bushes. Out of them came a Lotad. "Hey... Isn't that..." Started Alex. "Yeah. The one that was captured by Team Aqua." Said Avelyn. "Hmm. I kind of like that Pokemon. I'll go catch it." Said Cy stepping forward. "Not so fast." Said a voice from behind them.
A boy walked up to them, a Numel close behind.
"I saw that Lotad first. It's mine to catch." Said the boy. "And just who are you?" Asked Yellow. "I'm Matt. Future champion of Hoenn. Step back, that Lotad's mine." Said Matt, pulling out a Poke'Ball. "Hey! Why don't we settle this in a Pokemon battle?" Asked Cy, determined. "Okay, but be prepared to lose. Go, Numel!" Said Matt, and Numel jumped out from behind him. "Go, Combusken!" Yelled Cy, sending him out. "Okay Numel, finish this quick with Magnitude." Said Matt, shrugging. The Numel sent out a Quake. "It's a Magnitude 4!" Yelled Opal. Combusken was barely affected. "Now, finish this quicker with double kick!" Yelled Matt. Being just caught, the Numel was fainted easy. "Ugh. Numel, return." Said Matt. "Okay, keep your Lotad." Said Matt, walking off. "I'll remember you guys as strong trainers I can battle." Said Matt, walking off.
"What a unsurprising turn of events! Well, anyways, go Poke'Ball!" Yelled Cy, throwing one at the Lotad.

"Oh yah! I just caught a Lotad!" Yelled Cy.
The others congratulated Cy on his capture while Matt watched from afar. "Heh. Strong rivals. First day for everything." Said Matt, walking off.
