Bowser Jr. Also has a Koopa Clown Car, a vehicle that can fly, drive for damage, send out Mechakooopas, can spawn drills and boxing gloves for hands, and can shoot cannonballs out of its mouth. Bowser Jr. Also takes ownership of a small airship, like the rest of his family. On those airships are moles and cannons that shoot Bullet Bills.
Does that count as backup?
Not really. But overall, Bowser Jr. has the resources he needs to take down Mimikyu.

And, this had taken place at Mimikyu's place, so Bowser Jr. wasn't prepared and had the Shadow Mario mask with him. And even if he did have the Shadow Mario mask, he would've lost because Shadow Mario would classify as a Ghost-type, giving Mimikyu the type advantage.
Maybe Shadow Mario classifies as a Dark-type! Then Bowser Jr. would win, right?!
I guess this battle depends on whether he brought the Shadow Mario mask or not.
I guess both were just too powerful!
