Meyer, who is Clemont and Bonnie's dad in the anime, is discovered to be Blaziken mask in the later episodes of XYZ, and that he has a Blaziken that is able to Mega evolve. But how did he get Blaziken? Did he find it in the wild, did he trade for it, or, is Meyer actually from Hoein? According to Professor Sycamore in the anime, in order for a Pokemon to Mega evolve, the trainer and Pokemon must have a strong bond, so it makes sense that Meyer's Blaziken was his first partner Pokemon, back when it was a Torchic. As we all know, Torchic is the fire type first partner Pokemon that new trainers can receive in the Hoein region, so if Blaziken was Meyer's first partner Pokemon, he probably got it of Professor Birch, and then Meyer went on his journey, eventually arriving in Kalos, where he met Clemont and Bonnie's mother, settling down and opening a mechanics shop in Lumiose city.
