OK, so I got the Pokemon Sword Expansion for my 21st birthday, which was on July 16th, I am now 21, which means in 9 years I'll turn into a boomer.
MOVING ON TO STUFF THAT MATTERS
So like I said, I played through the Isle of Armor, and after a lot, I decided I'd give my thoughts about it, don't worry, this is spoiler-free.
OK starting from the moment you arrive at your destiny, first of all
-You see the Corviknight Taxi landing
That's a pretty cool detail I liked to see, you guys probably think I'm complimenting a minor detail that doesn't mean a lot, but I still like it, the fact that we can see the taxi moving in-game instead of during a loading screen.
-Klara, I LOVE HER PERSONALITY, she's cute, also a bit of a b$$ch but she's very likeable.
-Urshifu's forms, I went with Rapid-Strike Urshifu, his name's Konan and he's a freaking monster, I love using this pokemon in battle, and I also love the colors chosen for its gigantamax form, blue on white is a combination I absolutely adore.
-G-Max Venusaur and G-Max Blastoise - They look cooler than G-Max Charizard in my opinion, they don't send vibes as fanservice-y as Charizard's. No hate on G-Max Charizard, G-Max Charizard also looks BADASS, but come on, to the point only Charizard was in the base game and nothing about the other two? Good job Game Freak, now give us G-Max forms for the Alola starters.
-Mustard - He's cool.
-The overworld and the spawns - Now for the locations and spawns around the Isle of Armor. I honestly like the environments, definitely what you'd expect from an island and regarding spawns.....Canon-size Wailord just chilling on the ocean, instant win for me. Still on the topic of the strong spawns, I have to say, I'm a shiny hunter, and to me, the Isle of Armor is heaven, there's a lot of cool shiny targets to hunt for.
-Max Soup - This is a cool feature, if you give this soup to a pokemon that has a g-max form, it'll be able to g-max, before I played the DLC, I had the thought that this would basically make raiding for G-Max forms not matter anymore, however, you'll need to farm ingredients to make the soup and then use it on the pokemon, and these ingredients aren't common at all, so this still makes G-Max form raid dens viable since you're not granted to get the required ingredients, and to get G-Max Cinderace, Inteleon, Rillaboom and Urshifu, max soup will be the only way to get them because (at the time I'm writting this) those G-Max forms aren't in raid dens. Also, Max Soup doesn't work on Melmetal.....a bummer, I know.
-FOLLOWING.POKEMON - THE BLESSED FEATURE RETURNS. THANK YOU, GAME FREAK.
So all in all, I think the Isle of Armor is amazing, obviously, if you're a more casual player who likes exploring the region, you'll probably like the Isle of Armor, even though I believe the Isle of Armor is more oriented to Competitive Players, but it was still pretty enjoyable to explore, and if you're a shiny hunter who likes doing some shiny hunting frequently, then I definitely recommend the Isle of Armor because there are some very very VERY cool shinies to hunt for there, especially if you like soft-resetting hunts.
So, my rating, I give it a 10/10.
