#001 - Zephyr the Zangoose
Zephyr was a Zangoose that I caught in Pokémon Ruby. When I first encountered him, he was probably about level 17 and was a FREAKING SHINY. You guys already know this but I'm such a HUGE fan of the color blue like, if I could turn all the Pokémon in my team into that color I would. No questions ask. So about two Quick Attacks later, I managed to catch him with only a Poké Ball. Which I thought was actually kind of weird, because when I was younger I honestly thought all Shiny Pokémon were a lot harder to catch than regular Pokémon, and that it would take me at least a few Ultra Balls and some patience to get the job done. I squealed like a little girl (which I technically was) when I finally caught my very first Zangoose and I immediately named him Zephyr. I don't really know why, but that was the first thing that came to my mind. And so, three Generations later he's still on my team and was actually the reason why I became Unova Champion on White 2.
#002 - Ali the Emolga
When I first saw Emolga on TV I said to myself, "I'm going to catch that adorable motherf*****." So, I ended up spending at least three hours trying to find my old DSi, and spent another five hours after that playing an entire game of Pokémon Black just to catch it. Oh, the things we do for love. At first I didn't know where I could find one, so I just kept walking around the grass found in Route 5 until finally, I came face-to-face with one when I accidentally stepped on a rustling grass. After about a minute of battling, I caught it with a Poké Ball. Simple as that. For a while, I struggled to come up with a cute nickname for her until I just settled with my own nickname, Ali. She instantly became a beloved addition to my team, beating just about any Pokémon Trainer we encountered, except those with rock and/or ice-type Pokémon because *cough* weakness. I ended up loving Ali not just because of her power or her cuteness, but because she, in a way, reminded me of myself: lazy and overall a food fanatic.
#003 - Oshen the Samurott (currently)
You can already guess where this is going. So Oshen was my chosen starter Pokémon in Pokémon White 2. I chose him because a.) he's blue, b.) he's a water-type, and c.) he's just so huggable~! But mostly because he had the least type disadvantage in all of the starters and frankly I have a hard time trying to beat the Gym Leaders already, so everyone kindly shut up. Right now he's a Samurott, but in the manga I'm making he's still a Dewott, which is also the reason why the AppleShipping exist.
#004 - Valor the Braviary
So you guys remember how there is a special Braviary that appears somewhere around Route 4 every Monday on Pokémon White 2, right? Yeah, I didn't catch that Braviary because I ended up killing it. Instead, I received Valor from a friend who wanted to trade away one of his many Braviary for a Whimsicott. I don't why he wanted a cuddly puffball over a fucking eagle that literally had "America!" written all over it (he's American) so badly but, okay. It was a good thing I had one with me because Braviary was actually a pretty badass Pokémon. He managed to land me a few wins during a tournament held at school, and he's usually the Pokémon I pick whenever it was a battle of speed. Or heavy damaging moves, whatever.
#005 - Giselle the Gothitelle
Shortly after I had caught Ali, I was walking back to the pavement when completely out of nowhere, this freakishly adorable Pokémon showed up. To this day I still don't know why I decided to catch her, I'm not really a fan of Psychic Pokémon, but it just felt like if I didn't catch this exact Gothita at that very moment, I would be passing up the opportunity of a lifetime. Up until now, I regret nothing.
#006 - Cerise the Ninetales
Cerise is probably the oldest Pokémon I have, and one of the most powerful, too, standing at level 91 as of the moment. She was a level 20 Vulpix that I got out of trade from Pokémon Leafgreen, and the only reason I took her in was because I didn't have a Fire-type at that time and I needed one so freaking badly. But also because she was a fox Pokémon and I love fox Pokémon so… yeah.
But really, the backstory of it all doesn't matter. What matters is the Pokémon itself, as well as the memories and the friendship you obtained during those few short moments of playing the game. So make sure to cherish your Pokémon, guys. Even though it's weak now, it can still pretty much surprise you. ^^
