2009; this was my response to the disappointment that was the "new" Sugimori art for Spinarak and Ariados when HGSS were announced. They seriously didn't give them different poses after a decade, I was so looking forward to non-static art for the spiders too -_- It really would have been the least acknowledgement they could have gotten from Game Freak, they don't even get MEGAHORN ffs.
also nobody ever noticed it but yes that's the Stadium 2 Pokédex bg they're on
