This story is set when Bella is eight. Her father is currently on royal travel so keep that in mind.
Today was my birthday! My father was away on business so he wasn't here. I was turning eight, and Mommy is having the cook prepare a huge cake! I'm gonna have a big party. When it was time for the party all the kids of the dukes and duchesses and the people who work in the castle came. I only knew one boy, and I couldn't even remember his name, his dad was a friend of my daddy so he came over every once in a while. I smiled at him, and he smiled back. We played games, and then ate cake. It was finally time to open presents! I opened the one from the boy I know first, the card was in sloppy handwriting but I still liked it. I got the Pink Fluffy Unicorns CD!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!! After everyone left Mom said she still had one last present. It was really big, I touched it, there was holes in it! Then I tore open the paper, the card said.
Dear Little Princess Bella,
I am so sorry that I can't make it to your party because of business, but I have a surprise for you. I left Sylveon and Umbreon at the daycare, and guess what I got. I feel it is time for you to have your own Pokemon, so enjoy!

There was an egg inside, suddenly it cracked, "It's hatching Mommy!" I called. Then a small Pokemon popped out. "Eevee!" it said, and then pounced playfully on me. This eevee had odd colors, oh she was shiny! "I'm gonna call you Dove." I said to her, and then she licked me. I knew what a wonderful friendship we would have.
So guys, in the series currently Bella is 11, so this was 3 years before her journey.
