The weather here is immensely hot, thus I am dying and can't really do a lot. But here I am. This one honestly took the longest so far. You all voted for a dark type gym leader. So here you have her. And she goes by the name of...

DESIGN PROCESS

So I started to think what I could do for a dark type gym leader. There are so many options since there has only ever been one dark type gym leader, this being Piers. I choose to make her a woman not only to be the opposite of Piers (which will later be more appearant) So that was step one. Next was deciding what she would represent. And I looked at Piers and just picked the total opposite of him. While Piers is more rough and edgy, I wanted this gym leader to be sleek and elegant. I then jumped on the 1910's - 30's balroom aesthetic. This was a very romantic style and I thought it would be awesome if I'd make it more "dark type" or so to speak. I also gave a modern spin to it. I wanted to give her a leipard because it's quite an elegant dark type, in my opinion. But instead I picked absol because it makes more sense for story purposes (you'll see). This Pokemon that also fits her aesthetic very well.

HISTORY

Dianna Anastasia. The year is 1985 and a woman by the name of Belle Anastasia gave birth to girl she named Dianna. This happened in the Kalos region in Shalour City. She raised the girl by herself, since the father was no longer around at the time of her birth. She still wanted to give Dianna a normal childhood despite the father not being around anymore. But the dream of giving her child a normal childhood was soon ruined by something out of her control. And the image of her loving husband would forever vanish. You would almost say that she chose the wrong man. The child she bared was unnaturally pale, never cried and would sometimes have a faded red glow in her eyes. She even had issues with sunlight, and would be in unbearable pain when in contact with sunlight. Despite all this she went out of way to give Dianna a normal enough childhood. But she did do research about the strange phenomenons. And what she found changed her view on her husband and her daughter forever.

The year is 1989 and Dianna is 4 years old. Bella had done so much research into her daughters strange conditions. But she finally found out what it was. Apparently the Ligh family had a centuries old curse running in their blood. And because her husband was part of this family, he passed the curse on to Dianna. Dianna was a half blood, a vampire half blood. After this discovery she gre weary of her own child, and decided to homeschool her instead of going to trainerschool. She thought her everything that was thought in trainerschool. And everything she needed to know about herself and the curse. She did this until 1997 when Dianna was 12 years old. At this age she was ready for a pokemon journey. But unlike other trainers Dianna didn't get a starter pokemon. But instead she gave her daughter an Absol, the disaster pokemon. The reason she did this was because Absol could warn about disasters like extreme sunlight or other things that could hurt her child in any way. And thus Dianna set forth on her journey through kalos.

Her journey through the Kalos region was a difficult one, but after returning home in 2002 when she was 17. She decided to research her heritage even more at home and this eventually lead her to the Hudson region. She traveled there only one year later in 2003 when she was 18 years old. She decided to journey through the region as well but this time with the goal to find out more about herself and her heritage. This journey ended in Chamilla town. A town shrouded in mystery. Not many people lived there back then, but there she met a mysterious man who pointed her to an old abandoned building at the outskirts of town. He told her that she might find the answers she longed for there. So this is exactly what she did. The building had an old charm to it and was in an unexpected good shape. Venturing inside she found a ballroom. When in this ballroom she would get visions. Not a lot of them. But enough to let her visit it multiple times. The villagers slowly began to se her as one of them. But one day in 2006 when she was 21 years old she didn't return. Many people who lived in the town were afraid she had an accident and passed away, a few brave souls even entered to search for her but to no avail.

Two years later, in the year 2008 she was found, knocked out. by an anonymous trainer who went in the building to try and find ghost pokemon. She was immediately brought to the town where she was treated and she woke up not even a week later. After she was completely healthy she walked back to the building. She was absolutely obsessed with it, ans was only seen outside of it when she absolutely needed something. The townsfolk started to notice that she slowly started changes. She slowly began to dress more fancy, and started to cut her hair. Then the year 2011 rolled around, Dianna was now 26 years old. And she opened the mansion to the public. It turned she was renovating the building by herself, in secret. And it looked exactly like it looked in 1900. Everything was open to the public except the infamous haunted ballroom. The next time she returned in Chamilla Town, she explained everything that happend to her to the villagers. That she just had to do it for her family name. Since the Ligh family was the original owner in 1900 till 1940. She was now the heir to it. An she was actually now lady of the house. She then continued to tell them she turnned the ballroom into a battlefield. And that she applied for gym leader. Not only to give herself closure. But also to get this dreary village on the map. Since everyone here was so nice to her all the time. And they are always welcom in the gym.

TEAM

I will give her and every gym leader in the future a team of 6 which they can change up depending on how strong the opponent is. But here I mostly show up what their strongest and optimal team is. So here it is

CURRENT STATE.

Right now it's the year 2020, And Chamilla Town is now a hotspot for tourist, trainers and history lovers alike. With the current technology, Dianna made the original ballroom how it was back then. But with a single button she could transform it into a battlefield. Her gym is one of the gyms that pulls a lot of trainers, who are interested in the history of the building towards it. And she often hosts 1920's themed balls. Which also attract a lot of people. She might not be as good in battling as some of the other gym leaders in the region. But she's is well respected for who she is. And that's what counts.
