Me: Sorry for this coming late. My birthday was a few days ago. But, we got a new collaborator!
Eeveechu: Hey! I'm Eeveechu151, the new guy on the block! Hello, happy(ish) people!
Pain: Anyway, Generation 1 was definitely something special. But it didn't bring many electric types.
Me: But the one's they did bring, were certainly strong. Jolteon, Elektabuzz, Zapdos.
Eeveechu: But these 2 stood out from the rest. Electrode, the living Pokeball.
Pain: And Raichu, the most overshadowed Pokémon in the world. He's Mewtwofan and I'm Lord of Pain!
Me: And it's out job to analyze their Movepools, Stats, and Abilities to find out who would win, a Death Battle.
Pain: Raichu is a-
Eeveechu: Hold it. You always get bios from Bulbapedia, can I write 1?
Me: Knock yourself out!
Eeveechu: Starting off as one of the weakest Pokemon ever (Seriously, Pichu HURTS ITSELF when it uses ANY electric-type moves.), Raichu, the Mouse Pokemon, is a powerful contender on the battlefield.
Me: Evolving from Pikachu with the use of a Thunder Stone, Raichu is a powerful Pokemon capable of storing over 100,000 volts of electricity within the pouches on its cheek. However, charging this much electricity can make Raichu unstable, and so it often discharges electricity through its tail.
Pain: Raichu is a powerful contender, easily sweeping through Water-types and Flying-types. Unfortunately, he is also weak to Ground-type Pokemon. However, he is also resistant to Steel-type and Electric-type attacks, plus, it's ability is Static, which will sometimes give a Pokémon who makes contact with it Paralysis.
Eeveechu: Raichu's electric typing makes him immune to Paralysis, and according to the anime, can fire enough electricity to render a DRAGONITE unconscious.
Me: Using its most recent stat total, Raichu has a huge Speed stat at 110, great Attack and Sp. Attack at 90, good Sp. Defense at 80, decent HP at 60, and moderate Defense at 55.
Pain: Now let's talk movesets. Charge allows Raichu to build up electricity, Dig is a move where Raichu, well... Digs into the ground and attacks from below. Agility raises Raichu's speed, and Volt Tackle is a powerful charge, the signature move of the Raichu family line, that can cause paralysis to the opponent.
Eeveechu: It also injures the user, dealing one third of the damage dealt in recoil damage. So it's a very risky move. But despite this, Raichu is still a powerhouse of a Pokémon.
(Raichu Makes his Cry)
Me: Let's go back to our original style.
Eeveechu: O.K.
Pain: Electrode is a round Pokémon resembling a reverse-colored Poke Ball with a mouth and eyes. Its top half is white, while its lower half is red. For this reason, many Trainers try to pick it up, mistaking it for an item.
Me: The Pocket Monsters Carddass Trading Cards depict Electrode as hollow. Many know it by the nickname "Bomb Ball."
Eeveechu: Electrode tends to live in power plants where fresh electricity is being generated, which it consumes. As a result, it often causes blackouts. The more electric energy Electrode consumes, the faster it moves.
Pain: Electrode explodes in response to even the smallest stimulation, simply to entertain itself, or because it has taken in too much electricity. When full of stored electricity, it has been known to drift with the wind.
Me: This leads to the move Electrode is most known for, Explosion. It does a ton of damage, but kills Electrode in the process. It also has the moves, Earthquake, Thunderbolt, and Swagger! It's ability is Soundproof, which neglects all Sound moves.
Eeveechu: Now, let's turn to stats. They're pretty... well, balanced. 60 HP, 50 Attack, 70 Defense 80 in both Specials, and... Mewtwofan? Are you sure this script is right? I think you made a typo.
Pain: No typos were made, Electrode has a monsterous 140 in Speed. But Electrode is only weak to one thing, ground, while being resistant to Flying, Steel, and Electric, just like Raichu.
Me: The moral of the story is, if you see a Pokeball on the ground, take note of where you found it.
(Electrode makes it's cry)
Eeveechu: Alright, the combatants are set.
Me: Let's end this debate once and for all!
Pain: It's time for a Death Battle!
(The Kanto Powerplant, is home to many secrets.)
(In the basement, there's a Raichu powering the power plant, with Electrode's in glass tubes)
(One of the Electrode's explode, causing a chain reaction, all other Electrodes explode, except for one)
(The final Electrode gets out of the destroyed tube and rolls over to the Raichu)
FIGHT!
(Electrode uses Swagger, which confuses Raichu, but makes him mad)
(Raichu uses Agility and runs around in circles around Electrode)
(Electrode fires out a Thunderbolt, it sends Raichu through the air, but he lands on his feet)
(Raichu growls and turns into a Volt Tackle, but he crashes into the wall)
(The Electrode chuckled and used Earthquake, which caused the whole building to shake)
(Raichu gets up and smiles, before charging up with Charge)
(Electrode uses Thunderbolt again, causing Raichu to trip)
(Raichu snapped out of his confusion)
(Raichu uses Volt Tackle again, this time it works and both Electrode and Raichu crash through the wall and into another room)
(Electrode uses Swagger again, raising Raichu's Attack but Confusing him)
(Raichu screams in frustration, but he Digs underground)
(Electrode uses Earthquake, this does double damage to the underground Raichu)
(The power plant collapsed in on itself, but Electrode was able to escape)
(Electrode laughed, but Raichu browed out of the ground and slammed into Electrode)
(Electrode used Earthquake again, but this time Raichu was just knocked a few feet)
(Raichu tries to Charge, but it backfires due to Confusion)
(Electrode uses Swagger, but Raichu is already confused, so it just raises his attack to the maximum level)
(Raichu used Agility, making himself faster than Electrode)
(Electrode used a Thunderbolt that caught Raichu off guard)
(Raichu snapped out of Confusion and used Dig)
(Electrode used the free turn to use Thunderbolt to charge himself up, he had a plan)
(Raichu came out of the ground and slammed into Electrode, stunning him)
(Electrode uses Earthquake, this sends Raichu onto his knees)
(Raichu turns into a ball of Electricity and Volt Tackled Electrode)
(It was so much electricity, Electrode turned completely white)
(Raichu looked stunned as Electrode used Explosion, obliterating them both)
K.O.
Eeveechu: Now that's what I'm talking about!
Pain: While Raichu and Electrode had about equal stats, it was Electrode's amazing speed that decided this.
Me: Raichu would most certainly not survived an Explosion with his low defenses.
Eeveechu: Electrode was faster than Raichu, so he could explode without Raichu even seeing it coming.
Pain: All Raichu had to do was generate enough electricity to set off Electrode, which was easy since his cheeks are holding 100,000 volts of electricity.
Me: At least they went out with a boom. This battle is a rare draw-
Eeveechu: No, it's not. Electrode won this. He exploded and killed them both.
Pain: I'm pretty sure Raichu won, he's the one who detonated Electrode.
Me: We seem to be at an impasse. This is the first time I had to do this, but this battle has no winner. Tell us in the comments, who do you think won?
Next Time on Death Battle!
Our second Death Battle was ruled a draw...
That was one of 2 times I had been incorrect...
It's time for me to write my wrong...
Blaziken vs Emboar 2...
