Dope: These two Pokémon were stuck in the hearts of many.
Rotom: They’re challenging, strong, and above all...terrifying.
Dope: Deoxys, the DNA Pokémon.
Rotom: And Necrozma, the Prism Pokémon. He’s DopeLeafeon and I’m Rotom!
Dope: And it’s our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a DEATH BATTLE!
Dope: In ancient times, a being named Rayquaza stopped the tyrants Groudon and Kyogre in their primal forms. People worshipped Rayquaza, knowing it would always come to save the day. Until a new threat rised. A being made purely of DNA, one that Rayquaza had no trouble defeating.
Rotom: Then in 2014, a giant meteor came barreling towards the Sky Pillar in Hoenn, and humanity knew all but one thing: They were gonna die.
Dope: Despite all their efforts, the meteor stuck around, dodged every bullet. Almost like it was...alive.
Rotom: And indeed it was, because after Brendan the Badass came up and smashed that thing, there was a single triangle.
Dope: What’s the problem with a single triangle? Well, it turns out, the meteor was alive, and inside it was the old rival of Rayquaza...Deoxys.
(Battle! Deoxys - Pokémon Omega Ruby & Pokémon Alpha Sapphire)
Rotom: Its origins are cloudy, but Deoxys comes from the term...deoxy...de—
Dope: Deoxyribonucleic acid. Which stands for DNA.
Rotom: Whatever.
Dope: It can lower its opponent’s defense with Leer, move out of its opponent’s sight with Teleport, raise its own stats with Cosmic Power, recover its own HP with Recover, and transfer its lowered stats to the opponent with Psycho Shift.
Rotom: But that’s the boring shit! It can strangle its enemies with Wrap, catch up with escaping enemies with Pursuit, CONTROL its opponent with Psychic, knock them to the wall with Zen Headbutt, and blast them with Hyper Beam. But let’s not forget the Special Attack destroyer and its signature move, Psycho Boost. Not to mention it can CLONE itself!
Dope: And that’s not all it can do. It can morph its own DNA to gain the advantage in battle.
Rotom: Its Attack form greatly boosts its Attack stats at the expense of its defense, and it lets it learn Superpower and Zap Cannon.
Dope: Its Defense form greatly boosts its Defense stats at the expense of its offense, and lets it learn Spikes and Iron Defense.
Rotom: And finally, its Speed form, which greatly boosts its Speed stat and balances its other stats. It also can learn Double Team and Extreme Speed.
Dope: These forms allow it to adapt to any situation, and gain the advantage no matter what. Even without it, it can regenerate its own body when part of it years off.
Rotom: And it survived Mega Rayquaza smashing right through it, which means it survived 200 gigatons of TNT! Surely it can stop anything! And it can do it too! Its Normal form can compete with normal Rayquaza, but it also battled Mega Rayquaza, which is a Pokémon so powerful, it got banned from the ban list! How does that even happen?!
Dope: And, according to Pokémon Generations, it didn’t even get defeated. It was caught by Brendan, sure, but it wasn’t defeated.
Rotom: Though, I guess it shares the weaknesses of all the other Psychic-Types. It IS weak to Dark-, Ghost-, and Bug-Type attacks. Yeah...bugs...
Dope: And it DID lose to a 10-year-old. Two 10-year-olds if you count Red during that one event in FireRed and LeafGreen.
Rotom: Even with all those bullshit weaknesses, Deoxys is one tough competitor for the strongest of them all.
*Deoxys does the Birth Island thing*
Dope: Besides our own normal reality, there is an opposite world. A world of infinite possibilities, a world that can mimic our own, a world that can turn an innocent mother into a bloodthirsty beauty-obsessed one. The Ultra Space.
Rotom: In this mess of stuff happening, there are the Ultra Beasts, aka Pokémon with no eyes.
Dope: But don’t underestimate them. Nihilego can hypnotize people to become shells of their former selves, Kartana, despite its size, can cut rock, Xurkitree can grow to enormous sizes, Guzzlord can turn cities into abandoned ruin, and Buzzwole...is Buzzwole.
Rotom: Good ol’ Larry the Lobster.
Dope: But who is the one king to rule them all? The answer is in Ten Carat Hill.
Rotom: What an awful place for a legendary.
Dope: ...it’s Necrozma.
(Battle! Solgaleo/Lunala - Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon)
Rotom: Eh, doesn’t look all that threatening. Looks pretty small to me.
Dope: And you’d be right, it is pretty small, but this thing means business. It can use Moonlight and Morning Sun to heal itself, Gravity to force to opponent to be affected by Ground-Type attacks, Autonomize to sharply increase its Speed, and Iron Defense to increase its Defense.
Rotom: Necrozma’s main moveset is Night Slash, Power Gem, Wring Out, and its signature move, Photon Geyser. But it can also paralyze its enemies with Charge Beam, shred them with Metal Claw, Slash, and Psycho Cut, make them feel not so good with Confusion, and completely demolish them with Prismatic Laser!
Dope: But let’s talk about more form changes. When it fuses with Solgaleo, it becomes Dusk Mane Necrozma, and it can learn Sunsteel Strike. Then when it fuses with Lunala, it becomes Dawn Wings Necrozma, and it can learn Moongeist Beam. Simple, right? Well, it’s all fun and games until it absorbs all the light around it, and performs the Ultra Burst. If you’re standing in front of it, you won’t have a good time. Then, it becomes the one, the only, Ultra Necrozma.
(Battle! Ultra Necrozma - Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon)
Rotom: Really? It looks to me like HOLY SH—
Dope: This is the true form of the prismatic beast, and anything that comes before it will be crushed. Unless you know Toxic. In this form, it gains the advantages of both Solgaleo AND Lunala, those being boosts in Attack and Special Attack, as well as getting a HUGE boost in Speed.
Rotom: This thing is so powerful, it has a stat total of 754. That’s a lot, right? It becomes even more scary when I tell you Arceus has a stat total of 720. This thing can beat God itself! And consider this: It beat Lusamine AND Guzma, trashed Solgaleo or Lunala (depending on which version you’re playing), and absorbed all of Alola’s light in the span of a minute! It also absorbed all the light in another dimension, Ultra Megalopolis, and the whole place lives in darkness now!
Dope: That’s right, this thing is truly worthy of the title Ultra Beast.
Necrozma: Lie...lie...liiight!
Rotom: Wait a second, it can talk?!
Dope: Alright, the combatants are set, we’ve run the data through all possibilities!
Rotom: IT’S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
(Route 120 - Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire)
What a peaceful day in Hoenn. Deoxys was right below the ozone, and it was being salty about losing to Rayquaza over and over.
But then, it happened. An Ultra Wormhole appeared on the same level as Deoxys, but far away. Enter, Necrozma. More Ultra Wormholes opened, and the Ultra Beasts came out. They spread out, leaving just Necrozma. Just another dimension to terrorize.
Then, Deoxys floated over to Necrozma. Necrozma noticed it. They both knew what was about to go down, and they floated down to ground level.
Ah shit, here we go again.
FIGHT!
(Battle! Deoxys - Pokémon Omega Ruby And Pokémon Alpha Sapphire)
Necrozma instantly fired a Photon Geyser in attempts to get rid of it quickly. But then Deoxys turned into its Defense form to tank the hit. Then it turned into its Attack form and used Zap Cannon. Necrozma was hit, but then used Iron Defense so it won’t be affected again.
Deoxys went back to its Normal form, and cloned itself. The clones attempted to swarm Necrozma, and Necrozma couldn’t see all of a sudden. Then Deoxys used this opportunity to charge up a Psycho Boost. Luckily for it, Necrozma shook off all the clones and countered with a Prismatic Laser. It has had enough. It out up one claw, as if saying “one moment.” Then another Ultra Wormhole opened up. Necrozma reaches in and grabbed Lunala. Whatever dimension it came from was probably screwed now. Necrozma snapped its neck, then fused with it, creating Dawn Wings Necrozma. Necrozma uppercutted Deoxys with a Metal Claw, then blasted it with a Moongeist Beam. That hurt a lot, so it spammed Recover.
Necrozma didn’t want it to keep restoring health, so it grabbed it, and launched it through the atmosphere.
Some waiting later, they were in the final frontier: Space.
Deoxys snapped out of its pain, and used Psycho Boost. Necrozma used Moongeist Beam, causing the two beams to collide, and cause an explosion.
And that’s exactly when it happened
.
All of the explosion, it seemed, was being absorbed. Deoxys still felt the pain, but the explosion itself was gone. Reduced to atoms.
Or so it thought.
(Battle! Ultra Necrozma - Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon)
Enter, Ultra Necrozma.
Necrozma was impressed for Deoxys to make it this far, but this was the end of the road for it.
Deoxys transformed into its Attack form, and used Psycho Boost. But even that wasn’t good enough, as Necrozma once again used Prismatic Laser, but this time, there was no explosion. The Prismatic Laser COMPLETELY demolished the Psycho Boost, And Deoxys was hit. Deoxys tried using the clones again, but this time, they were killed instead of shaken off. Necrozma rushed towards Deoxys to deliver the final blow, and as a last resort, Deoxys went to its Defense form and used Recover, but to no avail. Necrozma used Photon Geyser to finish it, and stood in front of the explosion. Deoxys was no more.
KO!
(Seafolk Village - Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon)
Rotom: Now THAT is what I call a battle! The Pokémon Emerald fans are crying tears of joy! And sadness, because...y’know.
Dope: Deoxys proved to be a worthy opponent, but Necrozma just had the overall advantage. Its form changing did allow it to be a tougher opponent, but Necrozma’s form changing was more powerful.
Rotom: Plus, Deoxys has lost to Rayquaza, a Pokémon that Necrozma could easily triumph over. Unless we’re talking Mega Rayquaza.
Dope: And Necrozma could’ve just fused with Lunala and spammed Moongeist Beam anytime he wanted, let alone using Night Slash. And sure, Deoxys could reform its limbs, but that’s only for near misses. If it gets vaporized completely, it won’t be able to reform.
Rotom: Pretty much anything you say to contradict these results could be answered with “Ultra. Necrozma.”
Dope: Yupperdoodles. And sure, Deoxys did survived the smashing of the meteor, but for one, we don’t even know if it hit Deoxys specifically, and two, well, the other pieces of the asteroid survived too.
Rotom: Deoxys got Ultra-Owned.
Dope: The winner is Necrozma.
Rotom: They’re challenging, strong, and above all...terrifying.
Dope: Deoxys, the DNA Pokémon.
