Original appearance: Degenerate Forme in Gods and Demons
New appearance: in Chapter II of So Comes Ice After Fire
Auroraboros is well on its way toward becoming an actual documented pokemon! However, as a legendary and a demon pokemon, it's still extremely dangerous and should be avoided by regular people. Many of the canon legendaries/ultra beasts are cryptidex entries in-universe too!
Powerful and dangerous pokemon like legendaries may never get downgraded from the red warning due to their rarity, unpredictability, and role in the biosphere--pokemon like Kyogre and Groudon seem to have roles in, y'know, maintaining the balance between land and sea and can change the weather and shit, so in general the Pokedex Database as a public institution wants to discourage 11-year-olds from fucking with them.
Some legendaries are more known to the public due to charismatic individuals becoming more integrated into human society, but some experts suggest that this is dangerous since it creates the perception that legendaries are naturally helpful or subordinate to humans, which they are not, not even the ones that appear to "work for" human organizations or industry. Legendaries (and regular pokemon!) only help humans for fair exchange, namely access to energy. This is often a win-win situation and pokemon do behave altruistically, but the system in general would break down if pokemon (or humans...) weren't getting anything out of it.
I originally drew Auroraboros as just a noodle but the design evolved as I worked with it, so ta-da, a new forme for the freed demon.
"Regenerate" should properly be "Regenerated" the way I'm using it as an adjective, but it's fun as a made-up counterpart of "Degenerate" and sounds a bit Engrish-y, so a genuine Pokemon experience all around.
