Hale pulled up in front of InfiniTower on his motorcycle. Van was sitting on the bike.
"We're here," Hale smiled, "Hopefully Kep and Vega are still here."
"Smee," Van the Smeargle nodded.
It had taken about forty five minute to ride here from Domu Town. Hale prayed that Kepler's mom's interview had taken longer. Or maybe it had been delayed. Something.
Hale and Van walked inside the InfiniTower. There was no sign of Kepler or Vega. Where had they gone?
"Have you seen a boy with black hair alongside a girl with bright blonde hair recently?" Hale asked the receptionist.
"Yes. They left with Professor Spruce about ten minutes ago," the receptionist nodded.
"The Professor?" Hale said, "Thanks!"
Hale and Van ran outside to the motorcycle. The motorcycle was one of Hale's favorite things. He had gotten it for his sixteenth birthday. Only three months ago. And he had ridden it almost every day since.
Hale checked an electronic map of Cyrus City, and saw that the Pokemon Lab was on the northern side of the city. He hopped on his motorcycle with Van, and sped off.
Kepler and Vega walked into Spruce's lab. There was a tall woman with purple hair, green eyes, and pretty pink glasses.
"Back so soon, Spruce?" the woman asked.
"The meeting was brief. Not even a meeting, really. More like a quick talk," Spruce shrugged.
"Cambyses is a busy man," the woman said.
"Yes he is. But my trip was not without reward. I found two children who volunteered to help with our research on the Cosmic Trio. Wicke, meet Kepler and Vega. Kepler and Vega, meet Wicke."
Kepler and Vega smiled, and shook hands with Wicke.
Back at InfiniTower, after a few minutes of light chatter, Spruce had asked Kepler and Vega if they had heard about the Gingan Cosmic Trio. They had said yes. Spruce informed them that he believed that the Trio actually did exist. That it wasn't some phony tale. Kepler was in disbelief. How could a brilliant man such as Spruce believe in such silly things? But Spruce told them that he had picked up weird energy spikes coming from the Shesi Tomb. The tomb that an ancient civilization created so that the Cosmic Trio could have refuge. He believed that this energy spike was caused by the Trio. He thought that they were begin to awaken. So, Kepler and Vega had agreed to research the tomb if they were allowed to by their parents. In return, Spruce promised them a Pokemon. Kepler was secretly only excited about the Pokemon. He didn't believe in the Cosmic Trio.
"I'm so glad that you agreed to help us," Wicke smiled.
"So are we," Kepler said, "We really want a Pokemon."
"Right," Spruce laughed, "Let's get right to that. Come with me."
Spruce walked to the back of the lab. He put his hand against the wall, and a small green outline surrounded it. A touch screen materialized next to Spruce's hand. Spruce typed in an 8-digit code, and the wall slid open, revealing a tray with three Pokeballs. Spruce took them in his arms, and tossed them into the air. They popped open, and three Pokemon landed on the ground. An adorable black bear with roots crowding his ankles. He had a small leaf for a tail. One was a small brown pup with red paws, red tipped ears, and a red tail. There was small fire emblem on her chest. The last one was a blue piglet, with a design of waves on his belly.

"They're so adorable!" Vega squealed.
"Can we pick one?" Kepler asked.
"Go ahead," Spruce nodded, then turned to Vega, "Ladies first."
"I'll pick Emberuff," Vega smiled.
Spruce picked up the small pup, and handed it to Vega. It yipped happily.
"Would you like to nickname Emberuff?" Spruce asked.
"Of course!" Vega nodded, "I'll call you Flare."
Flare the Emberuff barked happily, and her ears flopped.
"I'll take Sproutcub," Kepler said, holding up the small bear cub.
"Sprou!" Sproutcub cheered.
"And will you nickname Sproutcub?" Spruce asked.
"Of course! Let's see. Something simple, but cute... Bean?" Kepler asked, "Like a Bean Sprout?"
"Wonderful!" Spruce smiled, "Now, head on home and ask your parents if you can head to the Shesi Tomb. Come back with the answer."
"Alright. Thanks Professor!"
Kepler and Vega were on the way out the door when Hale bumped into them.
"Hale!" Vega said, "What are you doing here?"
"I came to find you guys."
"What do you need?" Kepler asked.
"I need to ask a favor," Hale said, "It's big."
"What is it?" Vega asked.
"I want you guys to come on a journey with me."
"Amazing!" Spruce said, walking over.
"Professor Spruce?" Hale asked, bewildered.
"Please, just Spruce," Spruce smiled.
"Well, Spruce, these are my friends. And I need them to come on a journey with me. I need to practice on my art skills."
"A journey is a great idea," Spruce said, "I need them to study Shesi Tomb. They could head there on a journey with you."
"Wait, so you two were about to go on a journey without me?" Hale asked.
"No, we were going to ask you to come along," Kepler said.
"Well, if Hale is going to join you, he should have a Pokemon too. I think Splashlet would be a great partner for him," Spruce said, walking back to pick up Splashlet, and hand him to Hale.
"Thanks! Can I nickname Splashlet?" Hale asked.
"Sure thing," Spruce nodded.
"Splashlet, would you like it if I called you Pablo? After Picasso?" Hale asked.

"This is fantastic!" Spruce said, "You three head back home and check if a journey is alright with your parents. Come back here when you have the answer."
