Ian slammed his suitcase shut. He looked outside to his home city of Veilstone and sighed. Apparently, his foster mother had received an email from someone about some help group for the children of several evil organization bosses. Being the son of Cyrus, the leader of Team Galactic, he had been invited into the group. The group was based in the tropical Alola region, which was a bit of a problem since Ian didn’t have many clothes for the balmy weather that he would be sure to experience. The child sighed heavily. What would he say? I’ll probably just wind up saying something stupid like ‘My dad tried to destroy this world because it wasn’t good enough.’ or something like that, he thought. His mother’s voice rang from somewhere in the house telling him to hurry up. Ian made sure that he had his Pokeballs, then called back. “Alright, I’m coming!”
Marie’s sandal-clad feet slapped against the streets of Rustboro City. She dodged walking people as she hurried to her best friend’s house. In her blue-and-white striped tee-shirt, blue and white tie-scarf, and blue jean shorts, the Trainer looked like a sailor about to hit the ocean. She was actually the daughter of Archie, Team Aqua’s leader. Although, she didn’t know him particularly well. She reached her destination and rang the doorbell. After a few seconds, a boy with spiky lavender hair answered the door. He wore a red short-sleeved hoodie with a black Pokeball design, black cargo shorts, and red and white sneakers. The boy smiled. “Hi, Marie!” he said, and motioned for her to come inside. Marie stepped into the house.
“Shale, please tell me your parents got the email too!” she cried. Shale seemed unsurprised.
“Of course!” he laughed, “Team Aqua and Team Magma both engaged in pretty much a war on whether the world should drown or die of thirst due to a lack of water. It’s pretty obvious that the two of us, you being Archie’s daughter and me being Maxie and Courtney’s son, would be going to this thing if one of us was.”
“Yeah, that makes sense,” Marie nodded. “I’m just glad you’re going,” she confessed, “I won’t know anyone there! Neither of us will!”
Aralie’s fingers glided over the black and white keys of the piano. She was playing one of her favorite pieces, titled “Emotion”, out of anxiety. Being the daughter of Colress, a leading Team Plasma scientist, she had been invited by mail letter to go to some support group thing. Her Eevee brushed against her leg, evidently trying to calm the worried girl. Suddenly, there was a swish of hair and the presence of someone was next to her. This startled Aralie and made her fingers jump as she gasped. She looked over and saw her foster dad, N. “Sounds good,” he praised her. Aralie bit her lip and nodded, not wanting to burst into tears. N smiled softly. “You’re worried,” he said. Aralie lost it and flung herself into her foster father’s open arms, sobbing. Eevee jumped up onto the bench and nuzzled the girl’s arm. After she was through crying, she broke away from N and began to stroke her partner. N smiled at this. “You know, I’m going with you to Alola,” he told Aralie. Her eyes went wide with happiness. N nodded. “Go ahead and pack your things. Skyla is flying us there this afternoon.”
Lucy’s long red hair flew behind her as she zipped on the streets of Lumiose City. She had an angered scowl on her face. Apparently, her dad expected her to go to some stupid help group, just because of who her father was. So he was a giant dirtbag who decided to try and blow up the world, that didn’t mean that she would do the same thing! Her grip tightened on the handlebars. She steered her bike down a small road, bright red jacket flapping in the wind, and stopped once she reached Centrica Plaza. Lucy jumped off of her bike and leaned it against a bench, then sat down heavily on said bench. She sat for a few minutes, resting and looking at the magnificent Prism Tower. Then her Holo Caster went off. Lucy groaned in annoyance as she took it out and answered it. A hologram of her foster father was projected on the device. “Young lady, you get back home this instant!” The small figure scolded her. “You are going to go, whether you like it or not!” The hologram stopped and fizzled out. Lucy sighed and jammed the Holo Caster back into her pocket. She rolled her eyes as she got up, then hopped on the bike and took off towards her apartment building. Why did I have to be stuck with such a dirtbag bio dad? Lucy thought as she pedaled.
Ajax looked around. His trap was set, and the target should be approaching it soon. He heard footsteps and ducked behind a nearby bush. Down the road, his twin was approaching. Zara was walking down the path with her Ninetales, Melody. As per usual, she had her headphones on and wasn’t paying attention. She stepped onto the tripwire, causing it to snap. This let an Aspear berry roll until it hit a branch. The branch fell over, pulling a string that was attached to a perfectly hidden bucket of water. The bucket fell over, causing the water to cascade out and fall on Zara. This got her re-focused on her surroundings and caused Ajax to laugh. Zara moved her headphones to her neck. “AJAX!” she shouted. “YOU’RE LUCKY THESE ARE WATERPROOF!”
Ajax grinned and stepped out from behind the bush. “I’m sure I am,” he said to her. “You know that we’re gonna be goin’ to Melemele tomorrow for that stupid thing.” Ajax brushed a leaf out of his messy black hair. Zara still seemed mad about the water. She gave him a final glare and then whipped her head around.
“Come on,” she told her brother, “Nanu’s gonna want us back home soon. We have to pack so that we can leave earlier in the morning tomorrow.” The twins would be staying at the Melemele Island’s Kahuna’s house. Ajax gave his sister a small smirk.
“He’ll flip if you come home soaking wet like that,” he told her. “Burn! Dry Zara off, alright?” Ajax called out his Turtonator. The giant Fire and Dragon type’s shell began to glow a yellowish orange color and waves of heat radiated outwards from it. Within minutes, Zara was as dry as if the prank had never even happened. She and Ajax started off towards the Police Station.
Silver muttered something as he boarded the flight to Alola. If he hadn’t told Gold and Lyra about being Giovanni’s son, they wouldn’t have gotten the idea to make some help group for the kids of other evil organization's leaders. He sat down next to a window and looked out. Goldenrod City’s lights shone like Illumise in the Johto night, casting a pink-orange color into the sky. Silver looked at the city for a mere few moments before Gold sat down in the seat next to him. “Nice, isn’t it?” Silver’s rival asked. The crimson haired Trainer only grunted his reply. Someone closed the carry-on compartment and sat down.
“Silver, why can’t you just go for it and help those kids out? You might learn about yourself too,” Lyra told him. Silver turned to face her, an “are you really this stupid” look on his face.
“Or it might just turn out to be an awkward waste of our time that we might never get back. What if these kids don’t have any problems? I was just mad because…” he looked back to the window.
“Because your dad-” Lyra began, but was cut off.
“Don’t call him my dad. And let’s just pretend this conversation never happened, okay?” Silver didn’t even look at the two Trainers next to him, who exchanged nervous glances with each other. The plane lurched forwards, beginning takeoff. Silver brushed his hair out of his face. He’d have to do this, whether he liked it or not.
