The Future is Now, Thanks to Ampharos (Blackout Part 2)
A smashing window was the first thing Bonnie heard, making her flinch. She spun around quickly to find broken glass on the floor, barely visible in the moonlight. There was a lot of running and Professor Sycamore ran over, putting something in bag quickly.
"You have to run-- and whatever you do, don't let anyone see those in your bag."
"Ok..."
She ran out the door, but stopped when something touched her back.
It was Ampharos.
"Ampharos?? I though you were with Dad!"
It shook its head, poking her bag.
"The stuff in here is important. Go help the Professor, I'll be fine!"
Ampharos reluctantly went back inside as Bonnie ran toward the Gym.
The security system Clemont had made automatically locked the doors, so she couldn't get in. But she had to get to the top floor with Dedenne... there was an emergency power source there that Dedenne could shock to restore power to the city.
She took a deep breath....
And started to climb.
It took a very long time for her to get halfway up, and that was already dizzyingly high up. Her arms and legs were burning.
She sat on a small ledge, gasping for air and letting her limbs rest. Dedenne moved in her bag, and it seemed as if it were trembling, or shivering. She opened it to see, and the little orange mouse was curled up in a ball, it's tail twitching. She gasped.
The Professor had put what she instantly recognized as a Key Stone and a Mega Stone in her bag. But... why? Possibly because they were at risk of being stolen....??
Dedenne crawled out of the bag slowly and onto her shoulder. Bonnie began to climb some more. The top was getting closer.
--
A breeze blew on Bonnie and she clenched her teeth, closing her eyes until it ended. She was almost to the top.
Suddenly a flying Pokemon flew straight toward her, eyeing the bag.
They must have found out--!!
She threw Dedenne into the air as far as she could and it landed on the roof, immediately looking down at her in fear of what would happen to her. The Pokemon grabbed her bag-- and her with it-- and took to the skies. They fought over the bag, Bonnie finally grabbing the two stones before the bag began to rip. She desperately grabbed for her Pokeballs to save Chikorita and Skiddo.
But she only grabbed one before she started falling.
The Pokemon took off with the rest of her bag, one of her Pokemon still in it. She clutched what she had against her, the freezing wind piercing her skin and blocking all sound out. She couldn't even tell if she was screaming because she couldn't hear it if she was.
Dedenne jumped after her, tears in its eyes. It couldn't leave her behind. She hugged it, closing her eyes.
And then, just like that-- she stopped falling.
Someone had saved her.
She opened her eyes.
"Ampharos!?"
It nodded, taking the Mega Stone and hugging it against its body.
"Huh? Do you.... like that stone....?"
She felt nauseous beyond belief.
"It's the... Professor's...."
She collapsed against Ampharos, everything going black.
