Maria’s point-of-view, fifth day of the Butterfly Month, 170th year since the first ‘celestial children.’

It was just past daybreak. Christopher had awoken me earlier than usual, so that I had plenty of time arrange the flower displays.
“Five large flowers, four display baskets... this does not work out.” I muttered, looking at the flowers that I had spread out over the table.
“You could save one to do something else with, Miss Maria.” Christopher said, bowing a little. I sighed, immediately figuring out what to do with the remaining flower.
I filled the four baskets with the countless small flowers, placing on of the large flowers in the centre of each of them. After I had placed them all up, I stepped back to look at them, I, personally, thought they were as perfect as possible.
“Sheesh, you could do with a few more big flowers, floral decision-er!” Elisia said as she entered the room.
“Ah, I am deeply sorry, Supreme Duchess, I could not go as far into the countryside as I thought I would be able to,” Christopher glanced at me for a brief moment, “So I could not obtain many large flowers.”
“No worries, Christopher, I should’ve given you more of a heads-up.”
“Ah, yes, that may have helped, but it is all as the hour foretold.”
“Does that mean ‘you can’t stop yourself from making a mistake before it’s too late’ or something akin to that?”
“A-ah...! Uh, yes, it does...”
