Biomechanical Banister

by StellarWind Elsydeon

BiomechanicalBanister.jpg
StellarWind Elsydeon It occurs to me that I never actually uploaded this, even though it’s been finished for a while!

This painting is actually the first time I tried to take my typical biometallic-plating-tendrils-and-crystal-cores aesthetic into an oil painting - but this time instead of going for creatures, I put together an interface node at the end of a stairwell banister (inspired by one of the intricately carved staircases of Bethesda Terrace in Central Park, New York) - presumably linked to whatever ancient quasi-living system that has its tendrils running through whatever half-grown-half-built facility it may occupy, still functional even though whomever may have planted its seeds are probably long gone.

Also, odd tiered luminescent fungus/coral-like pillars because things weren’t alien enough.

This didn’t turn out QUITE the way I pictured it, but I’m still quite fond of the result.
