As we left off, our heroes have stopped Team Flare from robbing the Kalos Nation Bank. Upon doing that, an unhappy Team Flare Member tasked Ava with caring for his Gourgeist. Now accompanied by Alex, a perky and quite strong trainer from Alola, they made their way to the famous Baa de Mer Ranch, the biggest Gogoat and Skiddo farm in the world. Now, they seem to have taken a break from traveling to head to Azure Bay, a popular vacation spot in the Kalos Region, which is home to the Sea Spirit's Den. Let's see what lies in store for our aspiring heroes today! Enjoy :)

"Frokaie, use Water Pulse!" Elijah commanded.

"Lapras, counter with Ice Beam!" Alex replied.

Alex and Elijah were on the beach training through battle. They were both extremely into it, going full power. Ava was out in the water floating on her back and enjoying the Sun. Eevee was curled up on her stomach enjoying the heat as well. Their other Pokemon were either sleeping on the shore or running around in the grass. Today, our heroes were taking a rest day and enjoying what Azure Bay had to offer.

An hour past and our heroes were now gathered around at a nearby picnic table to enjoy lunch. They were almost done when they over-heard a conversation from the family next to them.

"I heard there's Legendary Pokemon in that cave over yonder!" Said a middle-age man to his presumed wife.

"That's crazy. Why would Legendary Pokemon lie at a place so close to human activity. Don't they like their privacy?" His wife replied.

"Well, I heard they only show themselves to worthy trainers and challenge them to a battle." The man replied.

Our heroes looked at each other with excited faces. "On it!" Alex said rushing to pack everything up. Elijah followed his lead along with Ava. After packing up everything, our heroes, along with their Pokemon, headed towards the glooming cave to the north of the Bay. They used Alex's Lapras to traverse the seas in between islands. Our heroes stepped onto the shore and Alex returned Lapras to its Pokeball, it wasn't of much use on land. They stepped towards the entrance of the cave and read the inscription carved into the rock:

"The Sea Spirit's Den. Only those worthy enough may enter."

Our heroes took one last look at each other and nodded. They entered.

Inside it looked like an ordinary cave. Rocks, rocks, and more rocks. They turned to notice three paths heading off into different direction. One lead straight ahead, another to the right, and the last went left.

Elijah turned to Ava and Alex, "We should each go down one path to see where they all lead."

"But what if something happens to one of us, no one else will know about it." Ava replied.

"We should plan to meet back here in an hour. If one of us aren't here, we'll go looking for them." Alex offered.

They all agreed to the plan and made their own ways down separate paths hoping to discover the secrets of this cave. Alex took the middle cave and was making good progress, or so he thought. He'd been walking for over 10 minutes and still hadn't found the end. He looked back at his Dragonite which was hovering behind him and said, "I feel like we're just stuck in one of those endless tunnel you see in movies or books. There's no exit and we're just stuck in an endless loop." His Dragonite shrugged at the thought and they continued to move forward. About 5 minutes later, they reached a dead end with and inscription on the wall in some weird language Alex couldn't understand. He remembered the translation app on his Pokedex and pulled it out. He held the device up to the writing and it began scanning it. The device came up with an error saying, "Unknown Language".

Elijah wasn't having much luck either and came to a dead end similar to the one Alex was at. It also had writing on it that the Pokedex couldn't translate. He studied the writing close and realized it wasn't writing at all. It was a pictograph: pictures representing actions. He looked at the three symbols in front of him and decode the first to be the world: place. As in place and object down. The second seemed to resemble a hand. The third symbol represented a wall. He thought for a second an then had an idea. He placed his hand on the wall and pushed. The dead end slid open revealing a very, very dark room. In corner was a single flame lit on a brazier. He walked up to the brazier and noticed a picture of a red bird on the wall behind it. He heard a loud thump behind him. He quickly turned to see...

Ava also realized that she was look at a set of pictographs. She too had run into a dead end like her other two friends. She placed her hand on the wall and pushed just like Elijah had done previously. Hers opened up just as Elijah's had. The room that opened up was identical to Elijah's except that it had a light-blue flame instead of a red one. She too ventured over to the flame noticing a picture of what seemed to be a light-blue bird. The same identical thump was heard by her and she turned to see the Legendary Pokemon, Articuno, standing before her. Ava's face was in complete shock. She'd never imagined she'd actually come across the Pokemon rumored to live here. Articuno called out in its voice and pointed its wing to one of Ava's Pokeballs. She thought for a second and then said, "You want me to battle you?" The Legendary Pokemon nodded its head.

Alex was having too much trouble figuring out what the symbols on the wall meant. He sighed and slumped down against the wall and on to the ground. Dragonite sighed and walked over to the door. "If I couldn't figure it out, there's no you..." Alex began to say. Just then, Dragonite managed to open the door the same way Ava and Elijah had. Alex sighed once more and stood up walking over to the brazier in his room. This time the flame was yellow and the picture was of a yellow bird. The same thump that Elijah and Ava heard occurred right behind him. He turned to see the Legendary Pokemon, Zapdos, behind him. Zapdos gave no warning and launched a Zap Cannon straight towards Dragonite.

"Dragonite, counter with Fire Punch!" Alex said moving away from the area of the battle so he wasn't harmed.

Dragonite Fire Punch decimated the Zap Cannon. Zapdos fired back however with a fierce Drill Peck. Dragonite counter that with a Dragon Rush. Zapdos being noticeably strongest, won the exchange of attacks. Dragonite hurtled towards the wall crashing into it. Alex told Dragonite to boost off the wall for extra momentum and to use Fire Punch again. Even Zapdos wasn't able to dodge in time and the Fire Punch made a direct hit. Zapdos shook it off like it was nothing and used Thunder which dealt great damage to Dragonite. Zapdos charged with another Drill Peck. Would Dragonite be able to survive the onslaught of attacks?

"Scyther, hit it hard with Night Slash!" Elijah commanded.

As you have probably guessed, Elijah was in battle with Moltres, the remaining member of the Legendary Trio of Birds. Moltres hit back with Air Slash and the moves collided causing an explosion of energy. Scyther was at a big disadvantage being very weak to fire moves. It didn't matter because Moltres wasn't going to go easy on it. It fought back an extremely powerful Heat Wave dealing a very large amount of damage to Scyther. Elijah wasn't all worried just yet thought. He was waiting for the perfect moment to go to Full Power on Moltres. Another Heat Wave did the trick though. The smoke from the attack cleared and revealed Scyther who was now glowing green. It was Swarm, Scyther's special ability. Even Moltres looked surprise from the sight.

"Scyther, use X-Scissor and Quick Attack, Quick Scissor!" Elijah called out using a combination move. One of his special techniques.

Ava wasn't having much luck either. Articuno was pounding Gourgeist with powerful attacks. Ava told Gourgeist to launch another Shadow Ball at Articuno. The attack was cancelled by Articuno's signature Ice Beam which not only broke the Shadow Ball but hit Gourgeist as well. Gourgeist knelt to the ground. It could barely stand up anymore (or float it guess :p) it was so weak from the battle. Ava ran over to her Pokemon and knelt down with it holding it in her arms.

"Are you okay Gourgeist?" Ava asked very concerned.

Articuno began walking over to the trainer and her Pokemon. Ava assumed it was coming over to finish the battle. Ava held her hands up and said loudly, "The battle is over! You can leave now!" Articuno shook its head as if saying "no". It continued to walk towards Ava and got right next to them. It put its wing over Gourgeist and emitted a light-blue powder looking substance. Whatever it was, it completely healed Gorugeist. Ava looked down and her Pokemon which now looked alive and happy. She then looked up to Articuno and said, "Thank you. I'm sorry about before. I was just worried about Gourgeist." Articuno smiled accepting the apology. The Legendary backup an fired what looked to be another Ice Beam towards Ava and Gourgeist. Ava clutched Gourgiest and closed her eyes in fear.

She opened them after not feeling anything. She looked around and noticed she was back at the entrance where had been before. She turned to see Elijah and Alex standing against the rock wall.

"You'll never believe what just happened." Ava told them returning Gourgeist to its Pokeball and walking up to them.

Alex and Elijah smirked and each other and Alex replied with, "I think we have a pretty good idea."
