Okay, so I spent a lot of time trying to dig up some missing comics. I was unable to find all but one of them (thanks @Kyubeon!), which means that 40 and 41 are missing forever.
Which is a shame, because I have absolutely no clue what happened between "That game sucked" and this one to get us to this point. Something pretty monumental, I would think.
Oh well.
This comic is, of course, a reference to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The entire page here is a setup for an elaborate joke concerning the fact that this is the 42nd issue.
Less obvious is that the last sentence in panel two is a reference to Robopon 2, and that panel five is a reference to the Neverhood.
That's how I roll.
