It was January 15th, 2015. I was over at my grandparents’ house (as this was before they moved to NL with the rest of us). I was surfing the computer, and I was looking for Pokemon stuff. I decided to try and make a trainer card online, so I searched up “Pokemon Trainer Card Creator.” What I found was an amazing trainer card maker which was easy to use and reliable. However, that green bar at the top of the screen caught my attention…
After an hour or so, I returned to the site to investigate. It turned out that Pokecharms was far more than a simple card-making site. Oh, no! It was an entire community… for Pokemon fans! Needless to say, I was thrilled. I even made myself an account named Eeveechu151. One of my favourite aspects of the site was (and is to this day!) the Forums. Now, I’m not one to debate that the Kanto games were better than the Hoenn games (which they are, in my opinion), but one particular area caught my attention; POKEMON ROLE PLAY.
You may not know this about me, but I like to write. And I also have inherited some acting skill from my parents. Thus, role plays were amazing for me! My first role play was a battle-oriented one, which unfortunately died off soon after I joined. However, my roleplaying made me some friends; namely @Bulba the Curious, @Twilight Nova, @EspeonTheBest, @WindRyder, @_Umbreon_, and @EclipseTheShinyUmbreon (to name a few). Eventually, I decided to create some sort of hang-out group with Bulba and some others, like @GamingGrovyle64 and @Ultimate Gamer_Shady. Eventually others joined the group, such as @AzureEdge (a fellow Tales of Vesperia fan), @The Blue Blur (a fellow Sonic fan), and @Lullaby_Prince. More joined on as the year went by, and I eventually had a huge group of friends online.
I even managed to get my two best school friends, @SismicFlareCharmander and @OmegaNave, to create accounts. They hop on and off at their own leisure. I never know when they’re on, but that’s their thing. Anyways, recently I got an award for being here for a year. And now it’s almost Pokecharms’ 13th anniversary. I’m excited to have been here for a full year. Pokecharms changed me, and for the better. Through the bonds I’ve made, the things I’ve learned, and the challenges I’ve faced, Pokecharms is always there. And it’s made me a better person. Thanks to @Teapot, @Demelza, @StellarWind Elsydeon, @Doctor Oak, and the rest of the Pokecharms staff. It’s been a great time here. Here’s to another 13 amazing years!
