Pokémon Ember and Freeze: Pokémon Ember and Freeze- #012-#014- Spreyward, Spreyrise, and Sprectanester

Here’s our regional bird, which is a constant across every main series game. Wether 2 stages or 3, they all are flying types that you can catch on Route 1! The names of these ones didn’t change, I liked them as is… again!

These Pokemon are based on the Osprey! In case you weren’t aware, Ospreys are a type of bird, specifically a raptor, making them related to owls, falcons, eagles, hawks, and vultures. They are very adapted to hunting fish, using their incredible eyesight to catch fish by piercing the water with their claws open. They are incredibly accurate. I decided to combine this with Osprey’s tendency to nest in dead trees, to give it the ghost type. Now, it uses its eyes to see the souls of fish Pokémon, to gain even more accuracy, as they are able to see their prey perfectly through the water.

The Nesting Bird Pokémon
Flying Type
Abilities: Big Pecks, Aquatic Bane, Tough Claws (Aquatic Bane: This Pokémon’s flying type attacks deal 1.5x damage to Water Types.)
Spreyward live all over the region, though they tend to be most common around bodies of water. Their feathers are incredibly sleek and smooth, however, unless they are dropped it is unlikely you’ll feel them, as Spreyward are a bit of a cowardly sort, running from most kinds of conflict.

The High Fly Pokémon
Flying Type
Abilities: Big Pecks, Aquatic Bane, Tough Claws
Spreyrise are far more confident than Spreyward, their evolution giving them increased ability to protect themselves. Their claws are incredibly sharp, and their eyesight is some of the best out of any Pokémon. They use this strength and sight to pluck fish Pokémon right out of the water with their talons.

The Soul Wing Pokémon
Flying and Ghost Type
Abilities: Big Pecks, Aquatic Bane, Tough Claws
Sprectanester have become consumed by the spirits of the dead trees in which they nest, as well as the souls of the Pokémon they hunted as Spreyrise. This gives their body a powerful infusion with the spirits, which it manifests into powerful attacks with shade-coated talons. Sprectanester can use its eyes to see the souls of Pokémon, using this to see its prey through even the murkiest water.
