Theory Review: Pokecharms Is FACEBOOK!?

by Sylvious

Sylvious
Every time I go to Pokecharms, I get a feeling Pokecharms is Facebook. And there is a question that I'll be covering today.

Is Pokecharms, the awesome website, FACEBOOK!?

There is a lot of holes to this theory, but I'm just making this theory for fun. I would be happy to interview somebody like Teapot and I probably will to see how this website was created. But, I will probably not get the answer I was looking for. Now; heres the similarities.

1. There is a status of a user page. This is very similar to Facebook's status feature. Nuff said, go find out yourself!

2. Likes. Lets start a story.
Pokecharms User: Hey! I got 241 likes!
Facebook User: Me too!
You get the idea now.

3. Followers. Like above. ^

So, do you think Pokecharms is like Facebook with these hints? There are many more, but I'm just listing some. Bye!

    No.

Profiles and followers/friends have been around long before Facebook was a bad idea. Status messages and "Like" equivalents are common in any social network - and quite a number of other platforms that blatantly parrotted them, because they work, and in this day and age are practically required to provide some form of an interactive experience on the internet. Naturally, Xenforo (the platform Pokecharms is built with) has them too. A few similar features does not a Facebook make.

Not that any of us at staff would mind having Mark Zuckerberg's resources simply for existing, of course, but
Pokecharms is NOT Facebook, it has never been Facebook, and it will never be Facebook.
