Chapter 12- Pierre, the small knight
-----
The young brunette screamed, as he pointed to a castle at the end of town.“Mother, those people have to leave now!”

His mother sighed. This was about the billionth time he’s said this week! “No they don’t, honey. They’re people, just like us.”

The young man’s voice came even louder, as he was getting more and more angrier as days passed, as no-one apprehended these demons.“No, they’re not! They’re demons!”

“Demons? Sweetie, you’re just at hot-headed as your father.”

“That hot-headiness got him killed, and I’m sure that I don’t have it!”

She saged through her son’s hair.“You do sweetie. The town’s been suspecting them for ages, but the knights don’t care.”

“Why don’t the knights come?”

“Exactly the reason they’re not demons.”

The young man took out his wooden sword from his scabbard.“I will prove to the world that they’re demons, and then I’ll become the leader of the knights!”

“Just because your father was the head of the knights doesn’t mean that you can be the leader of the knights.”

“So you’re saying that I’m weak.”

“In a sense Pierre, I don’t want you to do this.”

“Then I’ll work harder to become strong, and I’ll kill those demons!” He ran out of the room, and forgot what his mother said. He was not in the mood to take no for an answer.
-----
Pierre sighed, as he looked at that castle. He thought to himself, why don’t they come out? Are they waiting for something? Why are they secluding themselves? They’re only making it worse for me to kill them. I can’t just attack by myself, but the knights aren’t giving me any cooperation, since there hasn’t been anything suspicious in this area. Or as of yet.

He sighed. When would they leave the castle? He was now in forest, as he was watching them every day.
------
“Cecil, I need you to get some provisions. We’re running out of food, and I’d like to make something special tonight.”

“Something special? What is it, lord Sai?”

“Do you not know what today is?”

“Ah, isn’t today the 7th of May?”

Sai sighed. “It is, and that means we have less than a year left, for my vacation.”

Cecil realized that time did fly fast. To think it was 4 years already since that idiot Rafael came to the castle was very astonishing. But it was one more year until he got to brag that he was with Lord Sai the entire time. “Less than a year? Lord Sai, are you going to tell her?” He shook his head. He continued on his little rant. “We haven’t received any warnings by Mercy, so could they have forgotten?”

He shook his head again. “No, there’s no way they’ve forgotten.”

“So, why haven’t Mercy visited you yet?”

“Remember, she’s a cardinal. She’s busy with everything just like me, so it’s very hard to find time, especially for a vacation.”

Cecil nodded. “You’ve got to tell Lady Sara that we have to leave.”

He took a second to comprehend the words, and then sighed, “I can’t just explain that we’re demons.”

“You can’t, but you can say that we’re moving.”

“Moving? Ha, what a formidable excuse.”

Cecil nodded. “To another castle.”

“I want to fulfill my father’s wish of destroying this castle, but I still haven’t figured out how to destroy this place yet.”

“Shall we destroy it now, and then move as fast as we can?” Sai shrugged his shoulders.

Cecil sighed. “Lord Sai, I hate to ask this, do you even miss the castle?”

“I do. Now when I think about it, it’s hard to image me as king again. To think I was once king, it seems like a day-dream, but then again, it’s not. Our demon-lives are long, but not that long to call forever. I love being a father.”

Cecil smiled.“ Finally, This day-dream will soon come to an end.”

“I have mixed feelings about coming back.”

Sara was intrigued at their conversation. “Going back where?”

Sai walked to the wall, and put his hand on it, and felt that it was sturdy enough. He then leaned on it, and put one leg on it. “Well, back to my town. It won’t be as big as this castle, however.”

Sara stuttered, “Y-you’re leaving?”

“Not anytime soon, but yes. I would love for you to go with me.”

“Really? I’d love to go with you!”

Sai sighed.“You don’t even know where were going.”

“Well, I’ll be able to go outside as much as I want, right?”

Cecil chimed in to the two’s conversation. “You will be able to go anywhere you desire, Lady Sara.”

Sara twirled in her velvet dress, “That’s all the reason I need to go!”

“Now, if you’ll both excuse me, I’d love to go shopping now.” Cecil gave a quick bow, and headed off in his fancy suit, and walking cane.

Sai sighed and let his mind wander with all of his questions. How in the world is he going to bring a human girl of all things into his kingdom without anyone suspecting him of befriending them? And how on earth is he going to explain that he went on vacation and had a daughter? And this daughter might be his future wife? Wait, what the hell? Why am I thinking like that? Sai cleared his thoughts, and took a deep breath. Why was he even thinking about that?

“Father, anything wrong? If you want, we can play a round of chess, I’ve greatly improved from the last lesson that we had.”

He turned instantly red, as he couldn’t clear his thoughts. “N-no, I’m fine. I’ll just be in my room if you need me, ok?”

“Sure thing, but make sure that you’re alright, ok?” She walked off to her room.
------
Cecil sighed, as he looked around town, as he looked at the list as the list that he was given. “Hmm, I have to get all of this?” He sighed once again.

He picked up his walking cane, and sighed again, as he let his thoughts conquer his mind. What in the world was my lord thinking when we came to this place? As much as I like it here, this dream needs to end. And so does she, but I can’t lay any arms on her! Not that I’d want to kill her anyways.

There was an irregular stick laying on the path, and Cecil payed no attention to this stick. He eventually tripped, and fell. He was now covered in dust, and his cane was no-where in sight.

A young man took his cane with one hand, and with the other, held his hand out for Cecil to take. “Do you need help?”

Cecil took this young man’s hand in delight that he was there to help him. “Thank you.” He handed back his walking stick, as Cecil rose.

The man continued with a question, and Cecil thought it was an interrogation. “So, you live in that castle?”

Cecil tried to divert his question as much as possible, “Is there a problem with that?”

The young man drew a sword now, aiming for his neck. “You’re demons, so die!”

Cecil began to laugh. “Demons? You must be insane. Just because my master has black hair, and black eyes does not make him or any of us demons!” He dodged the man’s attack, only to find another slash aiming for him. He couldn’t face this man, for there was no sword! Could the walking cane be a substitute?

The man now went for a thrust. “We’ll have to see your true form then!”

Cecil did a back flip, and now had to fight back. He took his cane, and went for a thrust. The young man was shocked to see the man fighting back, but nonetheless, was still on his guard. Cecil aimed for the young man’s head with his wooden walking stick, and in time eventually hit him. The young man fainted, and Cecil inspected his clothing, to make sure that he wasn’t from the knights.

The Knights were the same people, who killed Sai’s mother, and were the ones who defended the human kingdom. They were the same people that lord Sai abhorred to the core, and happened to kill their leader a couple years ago. They were a huge deal, and if they were here, that meant they had to leave. Now. This kid seemed very familiar, but there was no trace of knight on him. The tons of stress earlier slowly faded away. The only thing he wanted to know was his name, but he couldn’t wake up the kid, or use magic on him.

Cecil really didn’t know what to do with him, so he thought, why not leave him here? He smiled, cleaned his cane from the human stench, and walked to town for groceries.

---
Once he was done with groceries, he returned to the castle, taking another path, so if the man did wake up, he wouldn’t attack him again.
---

Cecil sighed as he made his way through the secret entrance of the castle, only to find out that this passage led to Sara’s room. There was no option, and could he take the chance of going outside once more? That man would surely kill him without using his powers.

The passage was dark and dusty, but it was impossible to get lost, even without a light. He sighed, as Sara was usually in her room, and was thinking about the reaction that he was going to make. He opened the door, find out the opening was a huge floorboard right next to her bed! Cecil stepped out of the passageway as quietly as he could, only to find a screaming Sara right next to him.

“AaaaAh!” What are you doing here Cecil?”

“I don’t have time to explain.”

“Oh, sure, we have all the time in the world.”

“I was almost ambushed on the way to town; so I used this passageway to get back without them noticing.”

“You were ambushed? Who would want to fight you?”

“People would love to fight me, I am a very talented swordsman.”

“Who’s at the same chess level as me, I’m pretty sure you’re very strong at fighting.” Cecil slowly walked away, and tried his best to close the floorboard. Sara kept wondering what was inside there, and decided to take a peek…
