The log book was shut with a thud as Jayden looked over at a sleeping Zak with a smile. Their dream to escape was finalized, and The Ordinance couldn't do a thing about it. Jayden then looked at his surroundings. A beautiful grassy land with flat rocks covered in a mint green moss. The camouflage green nearly covered the dirt road, yet the road was still visible. The morning sky was a brilliant pink-yellow, yet the forecast calls for completely cloudy.

"Hey, Jayden." Zak yawned," We're heading into Durban, right?"

"Yep, I'm hoping to find a temporary place to stay, some provisions like food and water, and allies to help us get far away."

"Hm, okay. Let's get going!" Zak exclaimed," After we get our 'provisions', there's a place where I know we can gain allies." With that, the boys ran from their 'campsite' into Durban Town. The town was littered with tall cabins serving as house stores or apartments. Steeples, however were built out of marble as a respect for the God they worship. People in formal wear stumbled across the cobble streets. Everything was a part of daily Durban life, until three strong men ran from a wide not tall cabin near the edge of town.

"Freak girl inside Fist Tavern! Run away!" One man shouted.

"Boys, don't go inside! Your weak bodies won't stand up against her arsenal of attacks!" The other strong man pleaded. Without a second thought, the boys strolled into Fist Tavern. The tavern was lit with honey-colored light bulbs while rows of dark wooden table and matching stools were across the room broken or out of place. The burly men that had the fighting look in their eyes were instead cowards behind the thrown tables or behind the serve bar.

"Come on, is that it? You lame idiots!" A girl, presumably the same age as Jayden and Zak, shouted so loud that it shook the whole building. She then turned around to seethe two boys she was assigned to find.

"Aha! I found you! Zak, your family's worried sick and you..." She paused before quickly regaining her train of thought." You're the host, aren't you? King Vander needs to see you now. By the way, who are you?" She directed her question toward Jayden, and his thought was to say nothing.

"I'm...Jayden." Jayden reluctantly spoke, shuddering in his sneakers."Leave these men alone! This is not the place for girls like you!" he demanded when his courage peaked too high for him to control.

"Sounds like a challenge to me, so come get me! If I win, you go back to Singes Castle. If you win, I go with you and these people are free." The girl offered a deal Jayden knew he couldn't refuse.

"I accept." Jayden replied with a calm tone, and the fight began. The girl swung her left leg at Jayden's face, and Jayden responded with a back flip kick in the jaw. She stumbled onto her knees, but quickly leaps up and delivers the left swing across Jayden's face, sending him to his knees. Only one final move will decide the winner. The girl attacked with spinning kicks, but Jayden performed a back flip which resulted in a kick to the girl's chest. The force sent her flying into a table, which meant Jayden won.

"Aw yeah! Great job!" Zak congratulated Jayden with a massive bear hug.

"Thanks, but..." Jayden began, but he rushed over to help the girl get on her feet.

"You win. Take me as your prisoner." The girl made her hands into fists and held them out to Jayden.

"No, we need allies, and you're joining our group. What's your name?"

"Uh, Avril. Wait, you want me as an ally?" Avril asked with much confusion.

"Yes." Jayden extended a hand."Will you join us, Avril?" Looking at the hand, Avril reluctantly latched on, and Jayden led her out of the tavern, which erupted with joyous shouts from the men.
