Old Sprites: Jan-Jun 2008

Some unnamed fakemon, random trainer, King of Rhinos chao (old friend), first "me as a trainer", Artiste chao (another old friend), Christine Ray (old OC), I have no idea what that is, VampRaichu, sprite of my crush, sprite of my at-the-time bestie, and another "me as a trainer" sprite.

Early 2008 was probably my most embarrassing moment for spriting, and for good reason. I continued to badly experiment with pillow shading and getting atrocious results, obviously with no idea how shading and color theory actually worked (what the heck was even color theory). I thankfully stopped that after a while and began further experimenting with shading and whatnot, sticking with pre-established palettes found in the sprites that're from the games. I did quite a bit of splicing at this point, only because I was bad at scratch spriting and knew it.

Also apparently I really liked using the Parasol Lady's head from DPPt. <<

7 years later, I'm still ridiculously proud of that Hawaiian fakemon up there. I may or may not have used over 10 Pokemon bases to make that sprite :'D (and zero scratch spriting)
