"William? Is that you?" I asked. He stared at me scared, like someone had found their deepest secret. His hair was more ruff, and face more clear. He grew little fangs out of his mouth, and his eyes were now a dark bloody red colour. He also had a black leather coat on, with a hood. "Why are you on the roof?" he questioned. "Um, I was on the balcony and I heard noises up here. Why do you look different, and why are you on the roof?" I questioned back. "You really shouldn't be up here." he said, pretending my question didn't go to him. I stared at him, like if he wasn't telling me anything, (obliviously he isn't).

"Answer the question."
"If I do, you would be freaked out."
"It's ok. Trust me, I've already been freaked out enough."
"Fine." and he sat at the edge of the roof, facing the city. "This is gonna be a tale or something." I thought to myself. I walked carefully alongside the roof, to sit next to him.

He started, "A couple of days ago, my little brother and I walked in our backyard, to the fountain. He ran towards it, and started playing in it, like he always does." I already was confused, he has a brother, and he lets him play in a fountain. Well then. "While I was watching, I heard noises coming from the back area, where the maids usually take out the trash. I walked over there, to see what it was, and all I saw was a red goo that had been exposed all over the fence. As I started looking at it, my little brother, Steven, came running out of the blue towards me, full speed, hit me, and we both fell on top of that stuff. We had the butler clean it, and never spoke of it again. From that day on, every night him and I couldn't sleep. Then I discovered that I had turned into...this. A vampire." There was a silence between us. "Now tell me. Why are you like that?" he asked.

"Well. Um, sorta the same thing. Lilly and I, lived in an orphanage for almost all our lives. One day, the head of the orphanage left to London without us, leaving us there. When we got there from school, the orphanage was empty. We looked everywhere, and saw that in the head's room, both of our papers that had written we existed there, were ripped up. She didn't want us to come along. There was also the red goo in her room too. We both slipped, and next thing you know, I'm half wolf, and Lilly's a ghost." I explained. He looked at me, but I could tell he understood. "So, what about the stubborn boy and smart-mouth girl?" he wondered.

"We met them after we discovered that. The boy is Jonny, but prefers Blaze instead, because he's part dragon. The girl, is Ruby, part phoenix. They can turn into there monsters, and back into themselves. Lilly and I can't do that yet."
"Funny. I can." and William suddenly transformed into a huge gargoyle, with bat wings, big ears, and a stone body. He honestly looked terrifying. His eyes, were still the bloody red, with his pupil wasn't the sweet and kind shape anymore, but had been formed into a sharp and keen cat type of eye.

"Wow." I said, sitting surprised. He turned back, and put his coat back on fast, so I don't see down there. Honestly that wouldn't be nice.

"See. Now you try."
"How exactly do you suppose I would learn how to do that?"
"For me, I just try to think of something that makes me very mad."
"Ok. I guess what makes me mad the most is...geez this is harder then I thought. I never really thought of anything that made me very mad."
"Take your time."

I thought and thought. But then I realized it. The Ol' Hag. Weird I didn't realize it sooner.
"I got it!"
"Good. Then think about that, and the different ways it makes you mad."
I thought about it, really hard. But nothing. I kept on, with William looking at me.
"This is embarrassing. I'm blowing a fuse in front of a guy on his roof. Never thought this out of all things would happen." I thought.

"You should try next time. It's not working." William said.
"Dangit!" I yelled.
"It's alright. So what are you going to do tomorrow?"
"Well, we think we know what caused the red goo. When we inspected the head's room, we saw papers that might connect her and the goo. We're gonna find the lady, and confront her." I grabbed the shopping list from my pocket, and gave it to William. "Here. A paper she had in her room."
He read it aloud. "1. Mist of Lilliac Ghost, 2. Stone of Vamp, 3. Chip of Collar Bone, 4. Ash of Blaze Sky, 5. Burnt pieces of Ember, and, 6. Soul of Searial Wolf."

He stared at the paper. "I have to go with you." he ordered, in a stern voice.
"What?"
He got up. "If this involves what happened to my brother and I, I'm going."
"You can't! Your parents!"
"There're dead! I lied to you guys! They were supposed to come back from America on ship two months ago! They never did!" William started tearing up and sat down.

I stood there, looking at him. I went to go comfort him.
"I'm sorry for what happened."
"You didn't know."
"I never met my parents. They left me in the orphanage ever since I was 9 months old."
"Sorry. But please. Let me go with you." William begged. I nodded. He got up. "Anyway, tomorrow we can start heading to London." William wiped his eyes with his arm.

"Okay." I smiled, and we both went down to our balconies.
"Wait!" I stopped him.
"Yes?"
"What monster is your little brother?"
"Oh!" he chuckled. "A skeleton." he smiled, and went to his bedroom.
"A skeleton?!" ~

I forgive you, but just because it's long doesn't mean it's gonna take a long time to read. I read it just now, and it only took me about 3 minutes.
    @Teapot

@MelodyEevee Okay, that's just awful. I can understand not reading a story because of its length - although I do personally consider that pretty lazy, really - but why bother commenting to say that? Why disregard @MLEevee's hard work so blatantly and disrespectfully?
